"Even when he was at Arsenal, he's always facing criticism. He always rises to the challenge and that's what I love about Olivier.
If I had him as a manager he would play in my team, 100 per cent. "
"If his name is Giroudinho or something people would like him. For me he's the most complete striker Chelsea have and I don't understand, because even in the French national team people always question his style."
Have you ever considered there must be a reason for that?
International football is different to club football, but there must be a reason as to why 3/4 club managers have never failed to utilise him.
I've always rated Giroud as well before you start talking about bias. I've always thought he would be an excellent option for anyone in the top 6 really. But that's all he will ever be for any of them, an option.
When Chelsea were in danger of missing out on top 4, Fat Frank benched his favourite Abraham and began playing Giroud. When Sarri's Chelsea were gonna miss out on top 4, he benched his own signing Higuain and began playing Giroud. This season again, Lampard has tried to keep playing Abraham, but Giroud forces his way back into the team.
I'm not saying he isn't a good player that can be very useful to sides. I'm saying he isn't as good as Firmino, as that's what you asked.
But you said club managers don't rate him. I showed you that that's wrong.
Giroud is on fire this season. Best I've ever seen him play.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not exactly. You've basically said that managers didn't use him until they needed him, meaning he wasn't playing before that point.
That's what I said, there must be a reason why 3/4 managers fail to utilise him. They obviously don't do it on a consistent basis.
He didn't even come off the bench when Chelsea needed a goal against Spurs and were pumping quality crosses in the box all the time.
A player who is a squad player and has to wait for his chance at Chelsea is not as good as someone who is a consistent starter and key player for a side that is one of the best at the moment.
So managers literally need him yet they don't rate him?
Every manager needs a squad player, yes. I'm not saying they don't rate him, as they probably see him as a very useful player to have, but that's all he is. A useful player to have.
You have and never will get 38 games a season out of him and his impact is never consistently that great. That's why he's a squad player that can do a job when asked to play.
Is Firmino's impact consistently great? With 13 goals in 52 games last season? And TWO goals in 17 this season?
TWO goals in 17 games

Yes because his game is not and never has been about scoring goals. Creates on average 1.44 chances per game, won the ball back more times than any other player last season (37) and his hard work never goes unnoticed either.
Not scoring as often as what he used to do, but he's still playing in that team for a reason.
You're comparing a squad striker who may be past his prime years with somebody who is consistently playing in one of the world's best sides. There really is little comparison tbh.

They're statistics man. You can't act as if Giroud needs to be world class to be better than Firmino because Firmino's not world class himself.

When Mane, Salah and Jota are fit, Firmino is not in Liverpool's team. Why Klopp signed Jota and tried to sign Werner. Because he wanted to replace Firmino.

Oh wow, he creates 1.44 chances per game. That definitely makes up for him scoring 2 goals in 17 games.
Handy reminder that Giroud has started so much for France because Benzema fell out with everyone

France didn't need to play Giroud, Benzema or not. They could play with Martial, or Ben Yedder, or even with Mbappe or Griezmann as a striker. But they always play Giroud because he's a very good striker who gives the team what they need.
Usually when a player plays in a system well suited to him, he moves up a level. Firmino right now playing under one of the best managers in the world in a system that suits him well, is at a very good level. That means to me he's probably a good player under any normal team, and is overrated if he's considered anything more than that.
