Chelsea. 222 million spent, 4 points worse off than last year.

Still seemingly no pressure on Lamps.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah that team still doesn't have an identity

The new goalkeeper bounce is fading too.

No doubt we were the better side over the 90 minutes. Let's have no more of that 4 at the back unless we're playing rubbish (16th January)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd play 4-2-3-1 against Burnley, a team where our problem is always creating chances and breaking them down. 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 against Spurs and United like tonight.

We’re evolving Nut, we need to be able to play 4 as well. We’ll make mistakes but I truly believe only Liverpool are better than ourselves on our day
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No disrespect but come off it.

One day all the kids can in Manchester (and Surrey) will be asking their mom and dad for a wolves kit for Christmas

Shout out to Otasowie as well. He struggled with his positioning at first when we were sitting deep. When we started pressing he was excellent and won the ball back several times. Probably a big reason why we managed to dominate those last 20 minutes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah initially he seemed a little lost but defo made an impression the last 20 mins or so
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He looks like the type of midfielder we have been missing for years. A real ball winner who can get around the pitch. Good strength too.

Obviously a bit early for him, but from what I have seen in the u23s and tonight, I like the look of him.

Joe Cole blaming fatigue and the corner decision

With the players we have, certainly while Raul is out, I think the back 3 is the right set up for this team. If we are to move to 4231 or 433 regularly then I think we need to bring in a couple of different kind of players to help us make that change

That’s why I asked the question, thought he was superb from the off. Venti....Vintinho that other kid changed the game, bridged a void and killed London’s finest

To be fair, Chelsea are a bloody good side and will be challenging for the title. Just need to keep the score down.

No they won’t, you’re just talking bollax as usual

Much better performance tonight.
I see Saiss didn't put a foot wrong again tonight, tower of strength at the back.
No way could Marcal cut out the crosses.
Big problem with Semado. good going for ward but shocking defending.
Onward and upward.

I thought he was partially at fault for the goal. When Chilwell overlapped he was in the position to track the run or push Semedo over and press the ball. He did neither and Semedo got caught in a 2 on 1. Poor communication from them.

That is something Dendoncker does really well, which helps when we play deep. Otasowie was ball watching a few times. Once we pressed though and he got in amongst it, he was excellent.

Vitinha has looked good the last few times he has come on too.

Che!sea better,, but not title contenders.😢

As Halfy (UH) would say
What a fackin' thread

Vitinha certainly looks to do positive things with the ball, and seems to have a good understanding with Neto.

Compared with 2 or 3 weeks ago Chelsea looked a different side, thought we defended fairly well though you could criticise Boly for their goal and Semedo struggled again but I expected us to sustain more damage from Mount, Pulisic, Havertz and Werner.

From the beeb:

Pedro Neto's strike, at 94 minutes 39 seconds, was the latest winning goal scored in a Premier League game against Chelsea since Opta began recording exact timings in 2006-07

Dendoncker going off injured tonight and it seems Boly is carrying a tight hamstring which caused him to miss Saturday and be struggling at the end tonight

Good job we don’t play next until Monday so there’s a chance to recover

Saiss should keep his spot and Boly should be dropped. Kilman deserves another chance

posted on 15/12/20

Agree.

posted on 15/12/20

He does not look his best Boly but would not drop him yet, agree Kiliman done nothing wrong though, great passion and aggression from Pod and Neto, Coady always has passion but can’t be too aggressive as a defender, some more needed throughout the team but you could see Neto afterwards pumping the others up , great for confidence to beat Chelsea

Sandwell in their borrowed Melchester Rovers kit are holding City 1-1. Hopefully baggie hearts will yet be broken to round off a perfect evening.
