I think what Nuno wants is for his players to adapt to both or all possible systems, he does sound like he's talking in riddles in interviews, but if you listen to what he says it s nearly always about players being flexible and adaptable to new situations. Yes this means he gives nothing away tactically in interviews but its also true I think that he wants players to have more than one "best position" and be able to play in varying formations.
Semedo is looking like a right sided Vinagre right now. With fewer step overs.
I have felt that Semedo is much more wing back than full back but Chelsea yesterday loaded that side with Pulisic, Mount and Chilwell and forced him to play as a full back and he was badly exposed.
Real question mark now on whether he is the right man for the job. But who is the best alternative? Hoever?

that's what I mean atleast with 3 at the back the RCB can cover him
I think any of our full backs would have struggled in the first half yesterday. Chelsea attacked down that side the whole time with an overload. It was 3 on 2 a lot of the time as Boly defended quite narrow and left Dendoncker and Semedo to cover it.
I think Boly defended narrow when the ball was wide to help Coady with Giroud when dealing with crosses. As we know Coady can be exposed by a physical centre forward.
I like the fact (genuinely) that we've beaten chelsea and we're picking the bones over our weakness not our strengths, shows how far we've come really, not too long back we'd have been jizzing over beating one of the big boys with a smash and grab
Anyone heard any news about Dendoncker? He disappeared at half time with no explanation. I did't watch the game, did he get a knock late in the first half?
All that they’ve said about donk so far is that he was unable to continue
Just watched the highlights, 2 points:
Who was the young girl that came out of the South Bank to hug Neto after he scored?
Loved the way way Nuno hugged and congratulated Otasowie at the end of the game. Well desrved.
Wasn't it Moutinho that Neto hugged?
I thought it was Jimenez at first, but the photos look like Moutinho.
It was one of the groundsmen. Jacqui Oatley shared a pic on twitter of the same guy poking the pitch with a fork.
A bit weird how people have jumped to the conclusion it was a player crouched down behind an advertising board behind the goal.
Confirmed now that Albion have sacked their manager
Bilic has had the bullet then. Not sure who they think is going to drag them out of this situation, Bilic worked wonders to get this squad in to the PL to be fair. Im sure they have someone lined up, all the usual suspects are being touted, Allardyce, Pearson, Pulis. E&S have even suggested Benitez
Strange to sack you manager after a 1-1 draw with Man City.
tough on bilic, he was given next to no backing.
hopefully the sh!t go for pearson

Allardyce was already lined up to take over after the City defeat…..the defeat didn’t materialise but they had committed by then.
I heard they had lined up Pochettino

wolfie is right to say that most posters on here, apart from him and my good self, have been calling for a back 4. now most of you are back tracking and saying that we should mix it and play different systems.
the main problem with our system imo is a midfield that creates little for themselves or our forwards, and as long as it consists of neves, moutinho and donk is likely to stay that way.
we are still the lowest scorers in the league after the bottom 3, burnley and arsenal despite having some talented forwards. we need more chances created by our midfield.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely right Wolfgang. Our main problem IS the midfield, where we have never really had a creative player.
3 at the back is and has been the system that's got us where we are today and to suggest that putting one more player at the back when teams are trying to stifle us makes no sense.
What we have is pace in our forwards and all we need is a creative player who can open up opponents. Both Neves and Coady can supply a great cross field ball, but they're doing it from way back. Dendonker has been terrific Imo and is a great box to box player, but we just lack a bit of creativity from our current midfield players. We have to get away from the idea of relying on Jimenez to get the goals. Both Neto and Podence have been given the chance to prove themselves more and given a little time and patience, I feel sure will come up with the goals needed.
Semedo is much better as a RWB than a traditional RB, so to get the best out of him is another reason not to play 4 at the back.
Only saw highlights of the Chelsea match, but the Burnley one is live, so I'd like to see more of Otasowie, if he's given the chance.
What we do have to remember is that Nuno is a defensive minded coach and that by no means is a criticism.
Did anyone else feel that Neves had a much better game last night. He also got forward much more.
Keep it up.
I thought Neves was our best player last night
All the media seem convinced Allardyce is to get the job at the Albion. Maybe he will improve their results but he will certainly make them terrible to watch

Eh? Playing four at the back opens up an attacking spot. Wing backs are not particularly effective if a team sit back and stifle. 4-2-3-1 basically gives us that extra attacking midfielder you have literally asked for in your paragraphs sandwiching this comment above.

Yeah i assumed it was a ball boy. I can't imagine Moutinho was just sat on his own behind a goal.
Joe Edwards, Wolves correspondence for the E&S gave both Neto and Podence a 9 and Otawosie 8.
Didn't someone want Podence off at some stage?
