I think in both cases an experienced, switched-on midfielder would not have tried to take a touch...but I agree it's very risky giving someone the ball facing their own goal, under pressure, when they can't see what's behind them. He did another one to Elneny towards the end of today's game and Elneny just fired it off first time to one of the CBs.

Williams been ok recently. The fact he's our highest assist maker shows you what the manager is working with from a creative standpoint.

Having said that, that poor baaastard Tierney has been robbed of about 6 or 7 assists this season.

Willian has gone from hopeless, to average in the last few games. He's no longer a complete liability, but is now finally at the minimum expected level for his wages and pedigree. Only took 9 months to get there, the lazy prck. I'm only going to warm to him if he scores the winner in the Europa league final to get us CL for next season though. Or he nuts Jose. Then all is forgiven.

Decent cross but it’s a wondergoal header from Gabriel. Nobody expects him to score from there

Against Benfica. Simple 2 yard pass. Tierney creates the goal from himself

Burnley, again simple pass to Auba who creates the goal for himself

Wolves - cross from a corner

Fulham - cross from a corner and a cross field ball to Auba who again created the chance for himself and scored a very good goal

His only defence splitting assist was for Pepe against Leicester and even then it was hard for him to fack that up

3 of his 7 assists have been finished by Gabriel headers

You're right he's not exactly pulling up trees to create chances. But goals from corners are definitely welcome, and nobody else seems capable of creating those right now. I think we're all hoping that the assists will give him the confidence to start playing well again.

Im sure arteta banned us from scoring at corners - gabriel will pay the price

Mixed feelings bout the game. Great attitude from the lads to go on and win the game but I think we’ve also seen why we won’t win the Europa league. These players are just not learning from their errors, Luiz should have been punished in the first half and Leno with a ridiculous pass to a player that was already a bag of nerves from the benfica game. It’s criminal we keep making these errors , better teams will 100% punish us every time. Want to stay positive but you feel we need 3 or 4 goals every game now to stand a chance because you can’t trust these lot.
