Absolutely the 4 key areas I agree.
CB
CF
CDM
RW
However in a Covid Market where we haven't had any fans in the ground for a year we will be lucky to get 2 of these sorted this year.
Fully expecting Pogba new contract, Cavani extension and probably a CB signing and that's us done.
Anyone expecting a 200m transfer warchest is going to be pretty disappointed yet again.

I think your right on there not being a massive war chest, but i wouldn’t be surprised if we go for an experienced CB this year, like Chelsea did with Thiago Silva, who doesn’t cost a lot in transfer fee, simply because I think Sancho is a priority for the club (wouldn’t be my priority but it’s the feeling it get). So I think we will attempt to sign Sancho which, if successful, will take up the large majority of our budget, we will sign a relatively cheap (in terms of transfer fee) CB. While I think CF will be a priority I think we will extend Cavani and it will be put off until next summer unless we sell Martial or others to fund it.
CB, CF and CDM are most important imo.
With Greenwood, Diallo, James and Pellistri still to come back, I'm not as worried about the right side as I am those other 3 areas.
If we were converting more of our chances and not giving away such sloppy goals we'd be in much better shape.
Fred and McT overall have done well, but it would be nice not to have to protect the CBs so much.
2 centre forwards
Goalkeeper
Partner for maguire
Midfield is fine
Midfield permutations from any of Pogba, fernandes fred, james, mata, matic, Martial, DvdB (and, even if desperate, keep rashford as a sub) is more than good enough in this league.
It's the lack of strikers (Cavani excepted) and gk that are the biggest issues.
You're missing the biggest glaring weakness... Carrick and McKenna. Get rid of these novices and Ole may have a chance.
How is it possible that Brighton look better than us going forward?
Our strikeforce isn't good enough or central defence. We have better goalkeepers than De Gea but he plays due to his wages and not his performances and even Solskjaer admitted he plays De Gea even if he is terrible every week as he is De Gea. He drops Romero or Henderson even if they play amazing.

I don't think we need a RW.
We need a proper right back, AWB is mid table standard at best.
All the attacks from our right side are from AWB, which is why nothing happens from there most of the time.
Yeah he is difficult to get past 1v1 but in an attacking sense he's non existent.
Agree with the other positions.

City must improve too then clearly considering they only have 3 more than us. Pep best get watching Brighton.
FFS I have never heard so much nonsense.
We need to be more attacking in big games for sure but overall our attack is fine clearly given we've scored more than every single club bar City.
I don't think having a player on the right who is similar in style, but better/more productive would help us attacking from that side as much as having an upgrade on AWB.
The next game we play (maybe not vs City) just watch how many times AWB is the player in advanced wide positions on the right tasked with either beating his man or picking a cross out to create a chance as Greenwood has cut inside or laid it back to him, that would remain exactly the same if we swapped Greenwood for Sancho.

I'll be intrigued to see what happens to the market in the summer. On one hand, our funds will be greatly diminished. On the other hand, that applies to every other club. Will that translate to massive deflationary pressure on the market, so deals get done but the prices look like we're back in 2010? Or will players & agents on one hand and potentially selling clubs protecting their assets on the other look to defer doing deals in the hope that the economics of football look more buoyant next year? Will there be certain clubs who are particularly desperate to cut wages and bring in transfer fees, meaning there are deals to be done for clubs whose weakened finances are nevertheless in a position of relative strength?
One other dimension of this is that it's going to be an even less favourable market than usual for selling unwanted players on high wages.
The ones not feeling the crunch as much will surely be the clubs bankrolled by wealthy owners like City/PSG etc?
Could see more long term structured signings of yearly fees, more loans of bigger players, swap deals etc perhaps too.
Also more clubs willing to let players go with 1 year left rather than keep them and risk losing them on a free now, every penny counts.
"One other dimension of this is that it's going to be an even less favourable market than usual for selling unwanted players on high wages."
--------------------
A good time to have a decent man manager and a happy squad certainly, possibly not a good time to have someone like Jose in charge isolating players and falling out with them etc.
A great striker can cover up inadequacies else, so that first.
We may have sorted out our RW problem with Amed and Fecundo.
Keep Bailly fit and we are good to go at CB.
Therefore get Haaland at almost any price.
We certainly have a lot going for us right now. Some brilliant young players coming through just at the time where it will be needed.
The squad is in a much better place than it was for sure. I know some fans still aren't happy but if you were expecting us to win the title under Ole in his first few years then I think you're not to be taken serious.
It's going to take a while to get back where we want to be and given City have enormous wealth and the best manager in the game currently it's not even s sure thing any manager can topple them bar maybe Klopp and somehow I don't see him coming to manage us.
I think we have to start being smarter with the transfer cash we have and stop giving out silly contracts we can't get out of easily.

Would probably agree.
Having an absolute top CF would make both wingers look better (Rashford and Greenwood) or Amad in time, as it would basically be Cavani with pace, getting into proper strikers positions running to the front post, making space etc.
Even last week, James actually got by his man and whipped in 2 great balls across goal and nobody was there.

Not sure, I think City might. They don't really need investment anywhere else in their squad at the moment so going all out in 1 position could be all they do.
We all know how the summer window will go. Man City will have all their business done in the few couple of weeks. We will be link with every player under the sun. Nothing will happen.
