Not interested in lining player's pockets any more.

All that would happen would be that I'd be paying more to watch the same garbage getting paid £80k a week instead of £18k a week.

A wage cap for players, a massive reduction in tv income and a return to 50/50 gate receipt splits are the real solutions.

That won't happen though as they don't suit anyone apart from the fans.

Of course it's all about the fans. 🤣

Not interested in enhancing the English league and I don't think the likes of Fulham and West Brom would be up for it. We're a Scottish team.

I agree with Hector and Lex. Clubs should remain in their national leagues. What I would like to see happen (but it won't) is some way of making those leagues more competitive. at the top. Looking at your league, Rangers have 55, Celtic 51, with the next being Aberdeen with 4.

Can't think of anything worse than Ibrox being full of tourists.

I see an obvious flaw here

Yes! If football was truly for the fans then other clubs wouldn't need Celtic to help them financially.

Why does the SPL and other leagues depend on one or two clubs financially so that if you remove two clubs the whole league collapses?

Think about it, if you're not a fan of celtic or rangers you'll never see your team achieve anything.

Football is already in trouble and a bit pathetic and people act like they saved it by opposing the super League.

St Johnstone fans gutted to win league cup

Not a fooking chance. Said it before, we're a Scottish team, we need to focus on improving the game in Scotland. I'm all for the OF giving more money to the other teams too because without the other teams there is no league and there is no Rangers or Celtic. As much as I want Rangers to win every competition, I'd gladly see both us and Celtic taken down a peg or two for the sake of a more competitive league. We saw how dull the league was when Rangers were out it - a two horse race is more interesting, but a 3 or 4 horse race would be even better.

As a counterpoint, Celtic have 40 Scottish Cup wins, Rangers 33. Third on the list is Queens Park with 10, although their last win was 1893. It's only my opinion, but it does give some perspective.

I suppose when you put it like that I better just pack it all in and go support a team that wins every week.

We still enjoy it. The stadiums certainly aren't as stale as South of the border. Guess it depends what's more important to you as a product.
I didn't enjoy old Trafford in a champions League game. Selfie sticks and no passion

Rangers and Celtic may not have that money but you won't be able to hear for 3 days after a champions League match.
I value that more than paying average players 80kpw

And to be honest Wilko. You could level the same comments at spurs. If it's only about trophies, what's the point in them?

I’d welcome one of the domestic cups being changed to some kind of British Cup or something, would make for some good ties.

Aye. I'd agree.
I think they tried it further down the leagues

I think it would be a good experience for Man United to go to illustrious grounds such as the Ochilview and Glebe Park. Just watch out for the bushes.

I've said in the past I would be all for it as I was the ESL. Contrarian I know but here's why.

The issue is not more money in the game. The issue is distribution. Now that UEFA (and FIFA) have stared down the big teams they have a unique opportunity to re-mould football somewhat.

It is all very well talking about Scotland like we are not a diddy country because 2 teams occasionally shake up European competition and won something once. Reality is that success now requires wealth and a team from Luxembourg can never have that because they are constrained from tapping into that. Throw in pretty much any country outside the big 5.

That is the inequality and maybe clubs and associations need to be using the language financial apartheid because again, that is the reality.

Here's the chance. Address the threat. Embrace change. FIFA and UEFA already allow leagues with clubs from multiple countries. QotS should be playing in a N of England regional league if they so choose.

Allowing us to join England is a simple step. Find a way. Wee clubs will get a payoff as happened down south and when they see the cheque they will crumble.

Ditto Benelux countries into Germany. Scandinavian super league. Portugal into Spain. Whatever it takes. Again, more money into the game is not the issue - distribution is. Ensure it trickles down. Maybe player passports that pays not just transfer %'s but also success money right down to the boys clubs such that footy in Madeira gets a lift from Ronaldo's career?

Surely now the big clubs are wounded is the time to strike and change things up so that we, Red Star, Anderlecht, Stockholm all get a chance to win at the top again?

Finally the same rant I had the other day. The OF could apply to the EPL but it is ONLY UEFA blocking it. Soon as we threaten monopolies commission or European court or whatever they come up with the total ban from football for every club of that country. Politicos getting involved - ah its OK because it's against the superleague.

UEFA are the issue but you can be sure brown envelopes are being licked as we speak and it is still the case these big clubs, debt or otherwise, have access to the biggest ones.

The Benelux countries are planning to form a multi-nation league anyway so won't be looking to join with Germany.

Maybe they are but fook all will happen without UEFA saying so. Just as we keep talking about Atlantic league or joining EPL.

And let's be honest it is about money. About trying to hang on the coat tails of the big 5. Imagine Mr Singh's grows from 1 corner shop to 10, then starts buying up unloved Spars and suddenly he can't get licenses or planning consents or growth loans and gets told they dont want his money across the border.
