Oh dear.
Government to consider strict liability for football clubs as a response to the weekend’s nonsense.
Not surprised really but can’t see it happening.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Open to all sorts of abuse
Inside grounds on match days maybe but not out in the community
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d imagine lawyers being all over it. Nothing would surprise me after the bill though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would probably support it tbh but I think it is only skimming the surface of a wider societal problem
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This
Hurting the football clubs isn't tackling the route cause. It may have some effect being a 'stick' to try to lever a behaviour change in some but is that really sustainable.
It may drive anti-social behaviour further 'underground' i.e. further away from the stadiums.
I think this happened in the 80s with the English hooligan problem - the violence moved in to the towns and shopping centres

I don’t think the English game went down that route iirc. Might be wrong.
If it’s any consolation I think it’s a cop out from both government and the authorities.
A question is to be asked as to why the complete 180 over the scenes in George Square and those in Pollockshields.
Both defied the law of the land via large illegal gatherings.

The government haven’t really condemned the fact it was a mass gathering at either.
One was a peaceful protest, in fact there was another the day after Saturday in George square.
The other was a riot. It’s that simple.

They have to do something, that's twice in the space of a couple of months George Square has been a riot zone. Non football fans are getting fed up and to be honest they have a point.
Apparently a lot of people are saying it was a very toxic feeling environment on Saturday.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmmmm. By next week it’ll be consigned to history. People will forget quickly enough and move onto more day to day concerns.
My guess is by Friday with the review of Level 3 this will have died a death.

Sorry didn't mean the strict liability thing
The Police presence was greatly increased at the stadiums thus driving the hooligan element away from there and in to the centre of the towns

i think that is the only way these things are comparable to be fair
one is an act of preservation the other was an act of madness.
"aww mah rangers, they are just like the people stopping dawn raids by immigration officials, what heroes"
thats you.
just show us your rangers tap and be done with it
Why did all these events have to come with carnage?

fat people with tiny penises can't hold their drink, and when they get drunk they are all like:
"but my one incher is bigger than yours"
"how do you know you huvnae seen your will in years"
"aye bit i can feel it"
"naw ye canny your arms can't reach roon ye"
ha, fat cvnts.
Apparently a lot of people are saying it was a very toxic feeling environment on Saturday

I noticed this on twitter.
I hate the 'they're not real Rangers fans' patter cos they clearly are.
There just seemed to be a slightly different dynamic with the crowd that went on Sat to the crowd that was there a couple of months back

This take and the two videos of that Pakistani man and the Rangers fans taking the p1*s out of him are probably the worst thing out the lot for me.
Rancid kants.

3 types of rangers fan imo de bear.
2 of which get on quite harmoniously and thats the standard football fan, and the old logde loving drum banging bampot.
the third group is the ones that turn up when something big happens, manchester, stopping the ten etc. Haven't really bothered for years but when something big happens it's their time to show what big rangers fans they are, by acting like hard men.
i said it after Manchester, they don't mix well with the weekly supporters.
Brigton cross was actually quite peaceful by comparison. That tells you all you need to know about the state George square was.

I agree one was to preserve our ascendancy
The other was flagrant law breaking g to enable people smuggling and the the one on Sunday was cos wee strap on ayatollah has shares in a tea towel stall at The Barras
Read that on FF this morning
----------------------------------------------------------------------
the source of this in no way shocks me
they are a different gravy over there eh, like, the actual worst people

is that abdul guy isn't it?
he'll self deprecate and say anything he has to in order to be liked an noticed by the Rangers support, and tbh, it's only the worst of them that he impresses with it.
Seems to have to continually go further to be noticed, that bubble will burst at some point.
