I'd say alonso more of a playmaker and kedhira not first choice at real this year?

IMO it's hard to say who is a DM and who is a playmaker or box to box because there aren't really many natural DMs now. Not a Makalele type anyway

Yeah but Khedira is class. I was basing my choices on form and class, a mix of both.

I wouldn't say Alonso was a natural DM. He's a Xavi type playmaker who plays deep-ish.

Yaya, Schwein, Vidal all strike me as box to box players and you're definitely right, there aren't a lot of natural DM's about.

To be honest, I think Arsenal will only sign 3/4. I'm hoping:

Vertonghen
Podolski
TYPICAL WENGER SIGNING THAT TURNS OUT GOOD
WC Player. Would love Gotze

No Mascherano in any of these lists?
Is that because he is playing CB more now or because people just don't rate him that highly?

Drogba, Essien, A Cole, Torres, Cech all went down in SM

The days when
Drogba was 96
Essien 95

Hardly a surprise robin? 2 are getting older and neither had a good season, 1 has had 2 years of injury and Cech shouldn't really haven gone down, poor earlier in the season but playing well now. Torres understandably gone down but I'm sure he'll go back up again he's getting better playing really well now

And robin Essien may not be the same player as 2 years ago but he's still been very good since he came back until the games doubled and now he's looking tired but that's no surprise he's only been back 2 months. Apart from a lack of bursts forward he still does everything he did before and just as well really, some aspects improved too like passing and positioning.

Best DM during my life has to be Claude Makalele, what a player he was!

Yeah Claude fantastic player

Best young ones??

Got high hopes for Casemiro. Hopefully lol

Think Jones is more of a defender tbh. Good player to have though.

LSTD, it's funny how quickly they have lost it tbh. I mean from 96-92 especially Torres lol

Jones and Milner great to have in the squad for the versatility

Yeah

Jones will play this season at rb, maybe next season might be easier to get a dm than my rb target

I'd say because of their desire, for Drogba anyway, Cole not sure but he's played so many consecutive games with nighling injuries maybe that's effecting him now

Essien injuries to and Torres is as much confidence as anything now, he's got his pace and strength back he just doesn't always look to shoot sometimes to pass instead, not greedy enough

Can't agree they have lost it though, all 4 are amazing players still, only Drogba who's unlikely to be back plying at a high level of performance again
