I was talking about now. And I'm having a laugh really?

Did say if they were fit and more likely to be picked. Scholes has been talked about for England by Redknapp everyones favourite for the England job. Hargreaves if fit is obviously ahead of Howson. Jenas as well.

Huddlestone who already has a few caps and possibly more if not for injuries. One of the best passers of the ball in England imo. Easily > Howson.

Cattermole captain of Sunderland, proven Premier League quality. Is a really good dm if not for his temperament. Again easily > Howson.

Osman again proven Premier League quality. Does it every week for Everton. Easily better than Howson.

Fan Howson is 23. He's no where near being recognised by England, a few months in the Premier League don't change that. In 2 or 3 years the top 16/17/18 year olds of today will be establishing themselves and be ahead of Howson.

You either have blinkers on or are just play stupid

I said 2 or 3 years when the older generation are near done at International level

I also said if he continues then he will have a chance

posted on 13/4/12

I'm saying in 2 or 3 years when the older generation are near done, another young generation will be coming through and will be ahead of him. Players currently in England U21s, 19s, 17s for example. Your Mceachrans, Barkleys, Yennaris etc

Blinkered? Howson is 23. Only now has someone taken him to the Premier League, if he was anywhere near good enough to play for England he would have already been at a better club.

oh dear ok mate

leave it at that, as Howson far too old for England since he hasnt had a cap yet

Yeah a club in the top 10 or so in the PL a carp club

posted on 13/4/12

He doesn't have to play for a bigger club to get called up for England you know. What about Grant Holt? He is at the same level as Howson and people are saying that England should call him up and why not? If he is scoring goals then call him up. Just because he plays for someone that aren't as good as other teams doesn't mean that they can't call him up.

---------------Holt--------Rooney-------------

What is wrong with that? Holt is a big striker who can flick them onto Rooney who will slot them in. Perfect match-up if you ask me.

Aye sorry your right Howson who is 24 next month is an England international of the future. Putting in star performance for a club that always have players in the England squad. A club that fought off competition from top clubs throughout England for the huge money 2m pound signing, a further example of English players values being inflated.

LRF you answer your own question. People are talking about Holt for England because he is proving himself to be one of the best English forwards in the league. No one is talking about Howson.

Holt would certainly offer a different option for England on the bench. Aggressive, good in the air and would no doubt work himself silly if he got a chance for England.

ok you win, I lose

Fan =

He is far too old to get a call up now I mean he will be 25/26 in a couple of years thats far to old

posted on 13/4/12

I wasnt talking about Howson for now ya bam

posted on 13/4/12

Fan, are you Jonny Howson?

Not saying its too old. He could be a late bloomer and go on to be a top Premier League midfielder. Or it could just be as I think, that he'll never be good enough for England. And I was the one talking about for now, which is why we started talking about the international thing anyway.

posted on 13/4/12

you startred by saying their are 20 in front of him

i said

Barry, Gerrard, Lampard,Parker all the wrong side of 30

Wilshire, Jones, Rodwell, Howson, Cleverly, Gardner are prob the ones that England will rely on in "2 or 3 years"

so i never said he should be called up now, i said when the rest ie Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, Parker etc are 33+

posted on 13/4/12

Ye and I'm saying in 2 or 3 years I'd expect guys like Barkley, McEachran, Lansbury, Shelvey, Yennaris etc to have come through and be ahead of Howson.

Would be surprised if anyone really agreed with you that Howson would be a future England international.

wll join in Jet

I said in TWO or THREE years Howson would have a chance of getting into the England squad as he seems to be doing well

At that time the Gerrards, Lampards, Barry will all be 33+

Then Renegade said Huddlestone, Jenas, Osman (who has been nowhere near and is 30) Reo-Coker are all ahead of him

posted on 13/4/12

I said atm Huddlestone, Jenas, Osman would be ahead of him if fit.

I'm saying in 2 or 3 years Barkley, McEachran, Lansbury, Yennaris etc will be ahead of him as well.
