Kohli can't bat in England..I'm all for playing forward. But you cant play infront with your bat.. Pujara plays like that in India. he can press forward and play with his bat out in front and the ball hits the bat.In england theres side ways movement.
Thats why Pujaras record away from the subcontinet is terrible

I am not bitter because India are best consistent team on all formats. Virat will comeback strong legend batsmen no one like sachin.

Anderson always helps with cloud cover but if you look then ishant sharma has better away wickets and average then anderson but if speak truth like that englnd fans laugh get jealous

Isn't Virat averaging like 23 over 11 matches since he scored his last century 2 years ago? He's obviously been a quality batsman for a long period of time but he's nowhere near his best.

I didn't realise there were still people who believe that Jimmy only gets wickets when there's cloud cover

Think if we win the first session that should be the game. With the pitch flat you would hope for 400+ this innings.

India will no doubt bat a lot better second time round. With a flat pitch, a more disciplined Indian batting performance if it's not swinging it will be a battle to get 10 wickets, so I would be a little concerned if we got rolled for under 300 from here.

Need to continue our dominance and put on a big first innings score. Great chance for our top order to get some runs and confidence.

I'm still utterly astounded and bemused at yesterday's cricket though... Given what we've seen thus far in this series

Can we keep the willy-waving to a different thread maybe gents? It's genuinely quite irritating. This is one of the few havens on JA606 where the chat is usually enjoyable and on-topic.

Agreed King - first hour will say a lot. Even if we lose a couple of early wickets you'd hope Malan will come out with a point to prove, and hopefully Root's form continues. Point being that even if Burns and Hameed don't convert their good starts, we have plenty of batting to come. In theory.

This is definitely one of those scenarios you dream about as a captain/batsman. The opportunity is there to bat the opposition completely out of the game on day 2, and how often does that happen - to England especially? Our top order should all be licking their lips.

Obviously if we're still batting by the end of the day then that's got to be game over. We should be looking to bat properly, value our wickets, and carry the innings through a good chunk of tomorrow really, leaving us 2+ full days to bowl them out.
