Gutted Malan has missed out on a ton.

Very mature innings though, I think barring a disaster in the rest of the series he will bat 3 in the ashes.

Shame for Malan but a good innings from him although he'll know he's missed out on a century there. Hopefully Bairstow will give himself some time to get settled as there's still plenty of runs in this pitch so lets try and bat for 3 more sessions if we can.

322 runs lead is massive. It would give England a chance to put the game to bed tomorrow and win by an innings. Of course you'd expect India to bat a lot lot better but will they be able to score over 500 in the 2nd innings?

Yeah I want to see us bat until tomorrow evening. Great chance to really tire out their bowlers. Grind them into the facking earth I say.

I think the bowlers will be happy to put their feet up for another day. No need to finish the game early as there's no to very little threat of rain over the next few days.
