Almost like scoreboard pressure against one of the best bowling attacks in the world on a day 5 pitch makes it a bit tricky
Tremendous....some great bowling and tactics on flat wicket ! absolutely brilliant stuff..

That is a poor excuse tbh. Sandy is spot on. The pitch is not even in the equation. There was a stupid run out and then the deviation from wanting to draw to win made them lose the plot.
At least when we lose 5-0 in Australia, which will be our fourth test series defeat in a row, the ECB might start taking red ball cricket seriously again.
The standard of our batting is appalling. Since Root I cant even think of a batsman we have produced that averages over 35. Most hover around 30 and take it in turns getting dropped then coming back in when their replacement is also poor.
Need to start from a blank canvas and make changes to prioritise red ball cricket the way we prioritised white ball cricket after the 2015 world cup.
Same people that try to
Be funny now be serious and cry because loose very close. I hope they cry even more when loose is become reality

Sorry but not many conditions makes 90mph reverse swing much easier.
There's definitely been a mix of good bowling and tactics from India but a few of England's batsmen haven't helped themselves.
Despite our good start last night, this always felt like the more likely outcome. Just look back to the last test when India batted so well on day 3 with people thinking they would set us a target before we blew them away on day 4.
I'd like to see Overton and Robinson produce a bit of fight though and show some of the batsmen that they could and should have done better. It'll probably be all over within about 5 balls after tea though.

England haven't been good enough in this test sadly, they had a good first day and small periods in the 2nd day but apart from that have been poor and India have been the better team by a distance.
Massive task now for England to win the last test and draw the series.
Looking back we lost the game in our 1st innings.
220/6 with Pope and Mo playing excellently and then Mo throws his wicket away trying to attack instead of grinding them down.
Should really have had a 150+ run lead.
