So , it's a strait choice then ,
the sink(for want of a better word) hole that is Florida ! or,
the snake/ spider/ dingo etc etc etc infested large island that is Oz !

Florida. I’ll risk the brown recluse bites over dinner plate horrors
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Brown Recluse concern me the most as well. Hard to find but scary looking feckers. Luckily they like dingy basements etc rather than your bedroom.
Sydney Funnel Web spiders are the real ones to worry about. They will ruin your day very quickly. Luckily they rarely come into central Sydney homes. Possibly the deadliest spider on the planet.

Has the US even been hit properly by the Delta yet? Cos if not, things are going to change rapidly when it does get there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is just starting to take a foothold now. Those with the two dose jabs should be OK. Those with the single dose maybe not so much. Those unvaccinated are probably in trouble.
61k yesterday in the US. This variant took hold in Arkansas and Missouri, two of the least vaccinated states

Florida is a bizarre state. It is really like the wild west in a lot of the interior.

If Florida had population hot spots like LA, you wouldn’t see the same. You would see a hell of a lot more dead in Florida.
Ron played with peoples lives and got lucky.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The population is accurate, but also don’t forget some 80m people visited Florida last year too.
With that kind of insurgency logic would dictate deaths should’ve been far higher.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sure most if those people went home. Spreading the virus along the way. Oh and are you sure you can trust the Florida numbers? De Santis fired the woman who was in charge of the stats last year CIA he didn't like the numbers.
Cinci, is Ohio pretty much maskless in public space? Like I've gone out a lot this past few weeks and literally restaurants/bars employees aren't wearing masks anymore. Hope this doesn't come back and bite us in the ass
Miami has been a party since COVID started. They've got hotspots over there too.
It's how you play the risk management game. Priortize the older and those with underlying health issues first, then move your way down.

I live in Arizona these days. Ohio is probably the state with the most morons to be honest and even during regulations once you left the bigger towns masks disappeared.
In AZ different towns have different rules, Scottsdale where I am has been pretty good but no restrictions now. I have given up trying to see any logic to any of it and the ridiculous way the US just passes responsibility down the line is unreal. States doing what they want, counties within those states allowed to do what they want and townships within those counties able to do whatever they want. It's a shambles.
People need to realize that Florida is a vacation spot and most come and go before symptoms would even kick in, not to mention being a state loads of youngsters go to who may not show signs at all.
Well that’s true
But all those restaraunt, bar and hotel staff that serve the 80m tourists last year didn’t come and go, they stayed.

But the Fox (and the likes of News Max) target audience are for one group of people only. Morons.

No idea mate, can't say I have looked at Florida numbers. Could be many explanations if the numbers are disproportionately low. But I would guess a lot of Covid cases elsewhere probably stem from vacationers to Florida for a start.

Do you think tourists are more likely to spend their time indoors where Covid is more likely to spread or outdoors where it isn’t?
