Slight sidenote here but now that the Messi to PSG deal is confirmed can we all just take a minute to feel sorry for him and Barca... OH WAIT NO! I'm a little fed up of the sob fest in the media that it's a shame for both sides.
1. Barca could have kept him if they'd even remotely tried to properly manage their finances anytime in the last decade.
2. If Messi was so desperate to stay at Barca then he could have accepted lower wages to make the deal work - I have no doubt that they could have layered in sweeteners for him in exchange for a lower salary.
3. Quite how PSG can afford him in the world of FFP is beyond me but I look forward to hearing all about what a sound investment it was when they crash out of the Champions League in the semis and scrape first place in a league barely distinguishable from the Championship.

Re Ndombele - the feeling is he will stay and they will asses this season. There is frustration in the club as he is quality but just doesn't seem to really want it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good write up in the Athletic today about how his quiet, shy nature is mistaken as apathy and laziness. They seem to think he'll stay but won't play unless Nuno accepts that he is a 'mercurial' player that just needs to be left to make magic - he's our modern day Gazza or Ginola.

More importantly, why has aren’t more people talking about the fact that Saville fans happy about Bryan Gil? Is that due to his age?

He did agree a 50% pay cut and La Liga said no. Apparently Barca wouldn't have been allowed to re-register him even if he'd agreed to play for free, which shows just how badly the club has facked up financially in the past 5 years.
I do understand the media love-in to be honest. The guy's a legend of the game, loves his club and home and has ended up being forced to leave (and uproot his family) for reasons outside his control. It's not his fault he was offered his crazy contract. If the club couldn't afford it, then it shouldn't have been on the table.
Don't get me wrong, it's the ultimate first-world problem and the guy is obviously not exactly going to struggle for cash, but still. I do get it.
Will we be very happy come May 31st - that’s much more relevant. My fear is no, but hey I’m very much used to it
Oi stop knocking Dominguez, I liked him when I was a kid, thought he was brilliant 😂 must have been rose tinted glasses

What are your thoughts on Kane? happy with £100m + Laporte?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope. £130m + more cash in add ons would make me happy. Can't see any City player wanting to sign for us as they would and should want CL football.
Did your mates tell you there is a chance Kane has been offered a new contract?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
✍️ There are noises coming out of Harry Kane's camp hinting that he could sign a new contract at Tottenham.

1. Pushes his money up to £250k-£300k a week
2. Has a sensible but not outrageous buyout clause of £150million
3. Has an option for him to be leave if we fail to win a trophy or finish outside of the top 4 this season

This is the least reliable thing I've ever seen in my life
Hope it's true though
Any new contract will likely be a very slight improvement of terms and the length of it will be irrelevant. If he signs it it will only ever be because he'll have a release clause added. This is that 'gentlemen's agreement' but binding on print. Nothing to do with him committing himself to the club.

I seriously don't get why Spurs would accept just £100 million plus a City cast off, who doesn't want to be at Spurs.
Surely it has to be a minimum of £160 million, then Spurs go out and buy players that do want to be at the club.
City are desperate to sign, just don't make it easy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely any transfer is a "cast off".
I'd rather be getting "cast offs" from City than some provincial French side.

If Kane's brother is sorting the deal then its probably for 5 more years and for less money, plus Arry has to be publicly flogged for failing to arrive for training.
Pretty funny if his new contract has a release clause of £150m... and then City activate it the next day
Before you throw stuff at my head, yes, I'm aware the release clause would only activate at the end of the 2021/22 season, otherwise Levy would never rubber-stamp it
Just read Sandy's article. Harry is defo off then. Ta ra Harry mate. All the best.
The release clause could close the book on the whole thing. If it’s £150m then City won’t pay that next summer. I’m guessing it will be nearer to £100m which I think will tempt both Manchester clubs next season.
