You can't keep an unhappy player, performance wise it would be disastrous. Cash in and have peace ✌

I’m sure they will as soon as city pay the asking price

You can of you believe that they'll perform to a level above what you'll replace them with, especially with the world Cup coming up.

Fully agree with cashing in though, but has to be an acceptable cash amount.

No business sells their most valuable assets at a discount rate.

No one knows how true any of this is, but IF it’s the case that Levy promised Kane or led him to believe that Kane could leave if we didn’t get CL / trophies, and has since broken that, then how the hell can anyone be blaming Kane in this situation?

Just don’t make promises or agreements if you don’t intend to stick to them. Levy is unbearable sometimes. Just be a decent human.

KLS - You are assuming Levy has broken his word but their are two sides to every story. We don't know if the 'promise' included a fee. So far we have only heard from Kane's side. Until Levy speaks or all the information around the promise is fully disclosed we are just speculating.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you think Kane is lying?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know. If the gentleman's agreement went along the lines of "No champions league and we get the fee we want you can leave" then Kane is not telling the whole story is he?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Exactly. KLS is making an assumption about what was said. Levy may very likely have said you can leave if we don’t get CL, I don’t doubt Kane is telling the truth here. But that will be on the condition that a club meets our valuation. It seems that City have not done that. Kane can’t expect Levy to accept a low ball offer to do him (and City) a favour. My assumption is Levy will honour his word providing the right offer is made - Kane should direct his frustration at City who, like others have said, have the means to purchase him but haven’t made an appropriate offer and have spent a fortune on Grealish who they didn’t need anywhere near as much as Kane.

That’s a world away from Sol Scuumball who looked the fans in the eye and told a a bare faced lie about his intentions, then compounded it by moving to Arsenal. He knifed the fans in the back and deserved absolute dogs abuse for it the miserable cuunnntt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This. I’m pretty certain some sort of gentleman’s agreement was set, but this was on our terms and when the price is offered for what we want, then he goes with our blessing. That being said, he’s single handily ruined his legacy with the club and supporters. What a fall from Grace.

The agreement that was that he can leave

Which he can but someone has to pay.

City could easily pay 150m for him, they decided to spend 100m on a player where they already have lots of 60m+ players in same position.

Kane should be frustrated with City and take it out on them by playing another great season at spurs and showing them what they're missing for not submitting a good offer

'But Haaland is available next summer for half that'

Only one club can sign Haaland, they'll be a big fight for him next summer and why not bid for him this summer then?

'Hes 28'

Right, still have many season of guaranteed 20+ goals in him.

'Hes injury prone'

No hes not, just misses handful of games most seasons with the same reoccurring ankle issue

Surely he must know what kind of negotiator Levy is and he would demand the absolute maximum for him.
---------------------------------------------------------
That's the key point

If Kane genuinely thought Levy would've put his personal feelings above business then he's a fool. There's no other way to dress it up. Had decades of evidence to see what kind of owner he is.

Sol Campbell was one of the best defenders of his generation, won the league cup with Spurs, and transferred to Arsenal. He will always be considered a club legend at Arsenal. ... With Arsenal, Sol won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup twice and scored in the Champions League Final. Sol is the only man to have scored in the Champions League Final for Arsenal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ted, WTF do you have to keep bringing up Campbell, unless as I suspect you are really a closet Arsenal supporter. I doubt you will get a single Spurs supporter want to hear a single word about Judas.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is the similarity with Kane totally beyond your limited intelligence?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

There is zero similarity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sol Campbell:

-Lied to the club and fans saying he would stay and renew
- went on a free so the club didn’t recoup any money for arguably their biggest star and a player we’d developed
- went to Arsenal

Harry Kane:

- Pretty much openly admitted he wants to go
- if he does, we’ll likely get top dollar
- not going Arsenal

There are things about the Kane transfer saga not to like, but it’s not remotely like the Sol issue
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are saying things are different because the two players went about leaving in different ways.
I am saying the situations are the same because both players wanted to leave.
Simple enough!

we sacked Mourinho. Employers privilege.

We want certain players gone. they only leave if they want to. Employees privilege

Some players want to leave. They only go if we let them. Employers privilege.

All different scenarios both legally and morally and to try and conflate them and claim hypocrisy is petty, flawed point scoring displaying a lack of understanding.
