Mendy is terrible but it’s not looking good for AWB who I gladly admit is a better defender
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is it AWB is accused of? He is innocent until proven guilty Boris come on. Pretty poor of you to be saying stuff like that when he's not been found guilty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2 charges of driving whilst banned and with no insurance. He tried to get someone else to take the blame for one of them so he may be charged with perjury as well
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again we don't know all the details and it is unethical to speculate Binky.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True but there are more details in the public domaine than there are with Mendy’s case.

I think it's very naïve personally to write either City or Liverpool off given the experience both squads have got as well as the quality both teams have.
Chelsea look strong this year, United haven't looked as strong (as Chelsea imo) but have also had some good results early doors but maybe a poor one at Southampton in the grand scheme of things. It's still early doors though so plenty will happen over the course of the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that any of those 4 could win it and wouldn't bet against Leicester pushing one of them out of the top. The fans are back in the stadium, there has been some big signings and it is going to be a really competitive league at the top. What a season we have to look forwards to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't bet against Leicester either personally because they've bought well but I think the top 4 that most people are betting on this season either are (City and Liverpool) or have (United and Chelsea) taken a significant step up from where they are at the moment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that United and Chelsea have improved significantly. More so than City and Liverpool. Whether that will be enough to bridge the gap remains to be seen. I think that Liverpool will have to be lucky with injuries to win the title, as I think that of those 4 teams they have the weaker squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool have a weaker squad than United?
Where has this come from?
Better goalkeeper.
Better defence.
Better midfield.
Better attack.
The most important part of any squad, the first eleven. United have a better backup keeper and better backup attackers but weaker back up defence and midfield.
United still have a way to go before they have a better squad than Liverpool.

Yep. I can't see him going to pot.
'a way to go' seems a bit biased to me. I think we can agree a midfielder is needed but if you drop N'didi into that first 11, is it 'way off' Liverpool? I think only someone being mischievous or just incapable of overcoming their bias would say both first 11s are on different levels.
I don't think we collapse to teams like Fulham, Brighton and Newcastle even if we play Mctominay and Tuanzebe at the back. In fact we scored 3 against Newcastle with Smalling and Mctominay at the back. I think last season actually showed Liverpool are pretty fragile in terms of depth and Klopp really struggled to adapt which could have been partly down to circumstance, he had some personal things happening at the same I believe? Quality first 11 but I think of the 4 teams in the discussion, Liverpool are most likely to blame any bad patches on injuries rather than poor performances.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Better keeper, yes.
Better defence, not too sure. Varane will be a big improvement.
Better midfield, hmm....maybe. Certainly works better with how you set up. In terms of ability, I think that they are pretty equal, but we are missing a yop DM.
Better attack, I don't think so. But it is hard to tell with Sancho bedding in and now the arrival of Ronaldo. Time will tell.
Overall I think that the first 11s are very similar. I just don't think that you have got as much quality in depth beyond the first 11.
I think TOOR has had a memory lapse of just how well Liverpools squad did not cope last season. And we have strengthened ours where they really have not.
A second string attack could easily be Martial, Cavani, Sancho.
That's a decent enough attack in general, never mind being second choice. I feel like there's a bit of an air of Liverpool the year before they won the league about this United team. We may not end up winning the league but I reckon we and plenty of others will have a good time watching us try.
Klopp’s teams inevitably suffer physical and mental burnout. It started last season, and looks like continuing to this season. They look lethargic.

If you're talking squad in the content of outside the first XI, then I'd take Gomez and Matip over any of United's CB's that do not start, players like Keita, Jones, Milner etc would probably start ahead of McTominay or Fred in all fairness in the midfield as well. Tsimikas has started well also and I don't see any compelling argument to take Telles over him either at the moment.
It's only really the goalkeeping department and up front where United's squad outside of the first XI is better.

Probably not. I don't think we collapse if we play Gomez and Fabinho at the back either.
However if we get all our centre backs injured then the two central midfielders injured also, at the same time, therefore weakening the whole central area, then we may. Although I doubt that unprecedented situation would occur again.
No I don't think if you drop Ndidi into United the midfield is way off.
Although when you are better in every area, Goalkeeper, defence, midfield and attack, I'd say 'some way off' is about right.

Better attack.
The most important part of any squad, the first eleven. United have a better backup keeper and better backup attackers but weaker back up defence and midfield.
United still have a way to go before they have a better squad than Liverpool.

Looking forward to Ronaldo’s latest debut if it’s against West Ham.
Could he handle being heckled by 60,000 chimney sweeps?

He’d brush it off.

Nah, he is a decent tackler, and that’s about it. VC is spot on. He also does have decent pace to get back when he screw up. He is an above average defender at best.
