Interesting bit at the end:
‘Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim manager to the end of the season.’
An interim - so does this mean they’re not expecting to get Rodgers or am I reading too much into that?
Hard to be optimistic about the rest of this season though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well Rodgers is currently under contract. What it means is Zidane definitely isn't the guy we want as permanent manager. Thankfully
Believe only Ole Gunnar Solskjaer departs for now.
Kieran McKenna + Mike Phelan to assist Michael Carrick.
Darren Fletcher still has hybrid technical director/coaching role.
United had no plans to dismiss Solskjaer but Watford made clear change needed.

I'd imagine Carrick was part of the problem?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently Carrick and McKenna were the ones that wanted us to play more attacking football. Phelan and Ole wanted us to be more conservative. This had apparently led to a lot of the confusion among the team. Could be ballacks, of course.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe it because I have an irrational hatred of Phelan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah same. Though I think it’s perfectly rational.
I've got a bad Phelan about this...

So glad it ain’t Darren Fletcher. If he went on a 5 games unbeaten, top reds will call him the regen of SAF
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has already been called that.
Another interim coming in.
What a load of nonsense. Go and get the guy they want and pay the price and if he won’t leave get someone else.
Just gonna waste a season and a window on a supply teacher
So Carrick as caretaker whilst they search for an interim manager. Lol who in their right mind is going to take the job knowing they're out at the end of the season, if not before?
Carrick will still be there come end of season guaranteed
Probably win 2 or 3 and get the job on a 3yr contract.
Sky are so shiiit these days

Who would you lads like to get the job? Obviously regarding an interim the club look like they are not going to rush in or there is a pack of alternatives.
I saw UWW saying the next manager gets a year max or gone

Read the last paragraph from the club release statement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim manager to the end of the season."
He's interim interim, or pre-interim, or interim 1 of 2
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Always a bit skeptical of blokes that are interimming. They can soon find themselves in a big dirty hole.
What it means is Zidane definitely isn't the guy we want as permanent manager.
———
No it doesn’t. He may just not want the job, and who could blame him?
Who took training and did the tactics etc for the few weeks before Solskjaer took over as interim? Because the first few weeks of Ole was the best we ever played under him, and he wouldn’t have been the one to set those instructions that quickly.

Those first few weeks were simply because the guy that came in wasn’t Jose. I think the players coached themselves at that point.

Was clearly a new manager bounce, all teams go through a honeymoon phase after their old manager is sacked
Rodgers will be a disaster if that’s who they want. But if it was surely they would just pay Leicester and take him now.
They basically don’t have a clue what to do or who can fix the mess.
Need a new interim every month until the right permanent candidate starts in the summer. Keep the new manager bounce fresh. Get Fergie to round up all the old boys.
I’m pretty sure Zidane is waiting for France to flop at the world cup so he can takeover from Dechamps.
