But for an idealist like Ten Hag, that wants a high pressing team, playing a high line that plays out from the back and uses the full backs to support the attack, it could be very problematic collectively with what we have right now.
It’s what has annoyed me about our squad building. Especially as Ole was supposed to come in with some similar ideals to these.

Sorry Daz. I didn't realise you were focussed specifically on TH.
I'm not too convinced by him tbh. I think a new place without the Ajax set up will be a challenge for him.
Funnily enough I thought Conte would be ideal having studies his previous riles and what he implemented. I feel he changed according to players at hand rather than be rigid to a system. Iirc correctly his utilisation of Hazard took him up a level and he went against the notion of hazrd tracking back to letting him stay up top and do the damage whilst others covered for him.
We need a manager, especially in the early days, to implement a system to get the best of the players at hand rather than try the whole round pegs in square holes just to implement a system

As I said he changed things at almost every club he was at to suit the players at hand.
Of course this is going by reading online whawt he did at various clubs rather than having watched his career.
We need to try and drop into the Europa.
Sack the league off as we’re miles behind, get Emery in as the interim guy after Carricks pre-interim spell, win the Europa league to get us in the CL next season.
Conte’s the epitome of square pegs in round holes, though. He usually forces his players into fitting into how he wants the team to play in his back three system. He’s just bloody good at getting results with it.

Ah yes, the ‘2 steps back, no steps forward’ approach. Hell of a plan.
I also think having someone that is more idealist in what he wants from his players, and consequently the transfer market, would lead to a better collective because we’ll have to make a much bigger effort to address that lack of compatibility with the squad.
For years we’ve just been signing good players, or what we assume are going to be good players, and just expecting them to click.
