I did have Arsenal down as nailed

I’ve been telling you this for weeks Sandy, their remaining games are very difficult

West Ham, Us, Chelsea, Villa, Palace, Southampton, Newcastle - all away from home, that is a tough run.

Liverpool and United at home also.

That’s 9 of their 13 remaining games. If we can find some consistency then I am absolutely certain that come the NLD we will be in a position where we can potentially leap frog them

posted on 7/3/22

I dont think they're out of sight but it relies on us getting some results which is far from certain at the moment.

Must win tonight!

The NLD which Arsenal chickened out of is yet to be rearranged so that might well be towards the end of the season which will potentially make it a massive a game and possible top 4 decider.

The one big difference in their fixtures from our is that they have LFC and Chelsea to play and we just have LFC, and its possible the title is decided by then.

posted on 7/3/22

It's far from certain for Arsenal, and some of their fans already seem a bit overly confident.

However, it must be of some comfort to them looking over their shoulder and see the chasing pack throwing points away all over the shop.

If Utd, Spurs or West Ham could find some consistency and string together some results, top 4 is still very much on.

However on this seasons showing so far, that's a very big 'if'.

Of Arsenal`s remaining fixtures they still have four away London derbies to play at Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham and Palace. Liverpool, Leicester and Man United at home. And some more tricky away games at Villa, Southampton and Newcastle. So looking at those fixtures there is plenty of scope for Arsenal to drop lots of points
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course there is and we know we'll drop points along the way but i'm pretty confident that your lot will drop more, you have put yourselves in a position in which you are under immense pressure to win every game, just to catch us up, and you know how your lot do under pressure..

posted on 7/3/22

I think we need to win 9 of our remaining 13 to finish 4th - which would massively buck the current trend. The games at Liverpool and United are write offs, so that leaves us on a tight rope for the other 11.

It’s doable but we have to buck our ideas up Willy and the West Ham and Arsenal home games are must wins.

Yeah but you have a young team that often lacks leadership and a manager who is still a novice. Arsenal have had it very easy this season, no Europe, out of the cups at very early stages meaning that it’s mostly just been 1 game a week.

You’ve also had your tougher fixtures postponed from when they were supposed to be played.

I can see you guys wobbling big time in the run in - the only question is whether we can take advantage.

I would actually go further and say 4th place is for us to lose. If we don’t make it then we have absolutely bottled it as the league outside the top 3 this year has been abysmally weak.

Difference is Spurs are capable of beating some of the better sides, Arsenal are not. I would not be surprised to see Spurs go to Old Trafford and win, whereas Arsenal are pretty well certain to lose at home to Liverpool, lose to Chelsea, and then Spurs will probably have to beat them at WHL, which going by the past decade, Spurs usually win that game.

posted on 7/3/22

Man United definitely on paper still have the best squad, and it is baffling the amount of points they have dropped. 4th should have been a shoe in for them, with Spurs wobbling so much.

posted on 7/3/22

I’d still fancy united to take points off of you at old Trafford given how poor they were yesterday, can’t see how they won’t be up for it next sat. You still have to go to Anfield aswell, Westham at home, Brighton away will def be tricky for you. Think you’re looking at it like you will win every game til the end of the season. We will drop points for sure but I doubt whether you or United have the consistency to capitalise.

That's not totally true is it though Sandy, your hoping we don't beat any big teams but even you can't deny that we are a better team than earlier in the season and it's not clean cut that we will lose all those games you think we will. Even so, i highly doubt Spurs are capable of winning 4 games on the bounce anyway.

I just one of those predictor things on the remaining fixtures, and tried to be as unbiased as possible (though it wouldn't surprise me if I was still too generous to Spurs even though I really tried not to be). My final table surprised me:

1 Manchester City
2 Liverpool FC
3 Chelsea FC
4 Tottenham Hotspur
5 Arsenal FC
6 West Ham United
7 Manchester United
8 Wolverhampton Wanderers
9 Leicester City
10 Southampton FC
11 Aston Villa
12 Newcastle United
13 Crystal Palace
14 Brighton & Hove Albion
15 Leeds United
16 Burnley FC
17 Brentford FC
18 Everton FC
19 Watford FC
20 Norwich City

Despite doing that, I honestly don't think Spurs will scrape 4th spot.

Also I'd be very surprised if Everton were relegated, maybe I was too harsh with some of their results. And annoyingly I have Newcastle to finish far higher than I'd like.....

How have we had it easy? Do you think playing once a week has benefited us that much, i don't, i think the more games we play the better we will be. you guys were playing your b team in the rubbish euro comp but basically had your A team available, playing mostly once a week, every week, like us.

It affects preparation though, you can’t prepare for the weekends game with a mid week fixture to come first. We often started Kane in Europe for example.

Arsenal basically just concentrated on the league this year - I think you won 1 cup game all season. And it definitely helped being able to fully prepare for opponents.

However, I think you might shaaat it in the run in, I just hope it is us who take advantage

Well it is true. Your record against the better sides is atrocious still bar the usual North london derby at the emirate’s which you always beat us anyway. Sandy is correct, you are more than likely to lose the big games where as despite our inconsistency, we have got some top results v the big boys this season

Everton
United away
Brighton away
West Ham home.

7 points more realistic though

Well not really as we are not far behind you, so we haven’t lost to every lower team. The point is your remaining games are mostly top half teams now and very difficult games. You don’t beat the top sides and are flat track bullies. Most of the rubbish teams you have played now.

I think we have to take 9 from these 4, any points dropped tonight and top 4 is definitely done. You can’t drop points to a pizz poor Everton side who are useless away from home and finish top 4.

Having said that I wouldn’t put it past us to lose tonight and then beat United on Saturday
