well said mate, Chelsea will end up being fine, will most likely end up with a better owner than Spurs. In the context of whats going on the world this is hardly a big deal. The Government is doing the right thing, Those with ties to Russia need to be dealt with and RA will pay for his relationship with Putin. Chelsea will be fine after a chaotic few months. If a few fans cant go to games for the next few months.... No big deal
FFS, try being a Derby fan.
Lets be honest, though its not their fault, Chelsea fans have enjoyed the benefits of his ownership and now comes the downside. The Goverment should not be making any special exceptions just because he owns a football club. Its bad luck for the fans but there are always risks with a relationship like this
Sorry Genius I have zero sympathy for fans that have been living off the back of a Russian who laundered his money through their club. They lapped up the success the laundered money brought them, with no thought for other clubs or supporters that have tried to do things the right way. Abramovich and his money have completely distorted the finances in football with his dirty money.
By staying silent about Abramovich they are just as culpable. He should never have been allowed anywhere near British football in the first place.
TBF the decent Chelsea fans do not deserve this at all.
The sc vmmy ones chanting Romans name during the applause for Ukraine and the ones saying 'Roman is one of the good ones' can fack off and deserve everything they get.
I don’t think anyone can buy Chelsea? Correct me if I’m wrong
Just read that Chelsea can be sold just he can’t get the money
Yeah in all reality Chelsea will be fine.
That’s if he sells, he might decide to hold on incase the sanctions get dropped

Hi Sandy
Understand your viewpoint, I too in the past have raised concerns over the ownership of the club. I have a number of friends who are Chelsea fans and they also are not too happy with who owns the club.
I think it might be the same if Abramovich had bought Spurs, a portion of our fans would deny that the owner was culpable in securing his money by extremely dodgy methods.
In the grand scheme of things this really isn't a big deal. I agree with Scouse's comment, Derby fans are an example of fans to feel sorry for right now
The worst thing that could happen with this is we might wind up with sh!t owners as the government won't care (where Roman might have) about their motives so long as they have enough money to keep us ticking over, but most of the league has them anyway so it's not as if we'd be at some massive disadvantage in that scenario

Fair enough Genius. You are a good man always seeing the good in other clubs.
Cheers GG, from my point of view, through the dark days of the 80s when I nearly lost the club I've loved since I was 5, I can echo the sentiment that I feel more for fans like Derby, Wimbledon and Bury that are, or were in danger of losing their clubs.
I feel very privileged that I witnessed my club win just one league title before my time was up, let alone everything else we've won.
The days I spent going to grounds like Bootham Crescent, Edgar Street, Eastville, Boundary Park and Millmoor have given me a sense of perspective over this.
Hopefully, if I go to the Winchester for a pint, wait for this to blow over, we'll come out fine the other side!

I've not coming across a Chelsea fan yet who doesn't have prospective on this. We could end up with the worst owners imaginable for a football club - we still have a great team, the best academy in the country, and because of the last 20-25 years a sh!t ton of name recognition now all over the world.
The lowest I've ever seen Chelsea finish is 10th in the top league. Whoever buys the club, it'll still be quite a few years before I envisage seeing a worse one
In the end it’s upto Chelsea fans what happens next.
They could try and be vocal and force Abramovic out of the club so they can go back to normal, or shake fists on his behalf at the sanctions.
Are they Chelsea FC or Abramovic FC?
Mike Ashley might actually change his style this time and it will all work out well at Stamford Sports Direct Bridge

The club, like all clubs, need owners with deep pockets to survive, if Abramovich doesn't find a way to sell the club, they will not exist in a few years time.
