Politics is in a sorry a sorry state. When did the left become so intolerant and illiberal?
People need to learn that people will always have opposing opinions, and that is a good thing. The moment people don’t want to hear people they don’t like saying things they don’t agree with, you lose freedom of expression.
The real crooks are governments we vote into power. The tax payers money is wasted in such high volumes there could be a middle ground that most people are happy with.

We hear a lot of about the intolerant Left and 'cancellation' but when it comes to actual governments wielding actual power, I think the evidence in the Western world at the moment is that actual curbs on freedom of speech and dissent are primarily being driven by the Right.
In the UK, the Tory government is criminalising forms of protest (including 'nuisance' which includes being noisy) that have been considered acceptable for a long time. It is acting aggressively against independent media (privatisation of Channel 4, threats to kill the BBC licence fee, trying to install very partisan right-wing figures as head of OFCOM). Within higher education it is making noises about policing 'wokeness'. In the US, there is a huge movement to prevent education around gender, sexuality. There has been a lot of removing liberal books from libraries / syllabuses (and a literal book burning session in Tennessee). Senior members of both the Conservatives and GOP have explicitly praised Hungary's Orban and the ruling Polish party, both of which are explicitly and proudly illiberal, not just in their social conservatism but in the sense of their opposition to liberal democracy, separation of powers, rule of law and independent media.
Is there a single mainstream left party in power or with a strong chance of winning power in the Western world of which you could say the same? There are activist movements on the Left that are certainly quite strident in their rhetoric and intolerant of alternative viewpoints, but given their relatively small numbers and their often antagonist relationship with the mainstream centre-left parties, I struggle to see how you could view them as posing a threat to our freedoms that's equivalent to, let alone greater than, the clear tendencies in popular right-wing parties.

For a state that implemented no Covid guidelines they fared far better than say California which implemented ridiculously severe restrictions.
When you factor in age of population etc Florida clearly came out on top so not exactly sure how you can say a man who didn’t ruin his economy, get recalled because the whole state lost faith in, etc….is deathsantis.
