Today was a big game for Chiquinho also. He has consistently looked good in his cameos from the bench and probably been unlucky to not get more game time. He certainly put his case forward today

Yes agree with you Bute. Coady makes such a big contribution on and off the pitch. Certainly one of our biggest assets. Be sad if the future isn’t built around him, Neves and Neto

We all love Coady but building our future around him means we stay with a back 3 for the foreseeable.

MGW won player of the season by the way

The Chelsea fans I was sat with said it was never a penalty by the way. And I had to agree if VAR was taking that long on the offside, onfield decision should stand.

Really switched off for the second, but the subs actually changed the game for once, very impressed with Chiquinho's cameo and a lovely strike from Trinny, I was sat right behind it and could see the space opening up, thankfully he caught it just right.

I think Coady could play in a four, but he needs someone big, strong and fast next to him. Those players are pretty pricey and are the type of player the defence is built around.

Boly looked like he was running in treacle when we went to a back four some of the time.

I thought it was obviously offside and didn't know why they spent so long analysing Rudiger when Loftus Cheek was offside anyway. No way it should have took that long to rule it out.

I don't think we can have many complaints with the penalty. It was stupid from Saiss and he was lucky not to be given a second yellow.

These are the kind of brain farts that saiss was always likely to do, he's done well to cut most of them out but it feels like there's always one on the brink

Never changed my opinion about Saiss. Good squad player but should never be first choice in any position. As for Coady he either plays in a back 3 or he doesn’t play in my opinion. Given we have such an excellent defensive record over our premier league years it’s a big decision to give up on him and that formation and to me it would certainly be the wrong decision with the players at the club at the moment. Nuno made the decision to go with a back four in the winter of last season and during that time we got 2 points from four games and conceded 11. Don’t see it being any different now because we have largely the same players. Play a back four against City on Wednesday and we can expect a cricket score.

It’s players that make a good team not formations and the best formation for any club is the one that most suits the players available so let’s see if the summer transfer window changes what is best for us.

As for yesterdays game Chelsea dominated possession as they would against most teams at Stamford Bridge but we created better chances than them throughout the game but two mistakes in three minutes cost us, otherwise we defended well. Neves and Neto made a big difference compared to our side in recent games. Trincao came on and not for the first time had a very good ten minutes. Maybe with experience he can do it over 90. Chiquinho was excellent and deserves the chance to see if he can make his mark over a longer time on the pitch. Good result that showed again that when we have most players fit we aren’t far away from the top teams

I find it weird how people who have been moaning about us not getting players in the box and struggling to score for years, still refuse to look at the system we play.

We were totally ridiculous again yesterday...dominated..scored four times...and still let you back in...shoddy frankly

One game today sees a team that have lost their last 3 at home to a team that have lost their last 4. Come on Norwich

Saiss off with a knee injury yesterday. Having not signed a new contract, who knows, that may have been his last game for Wolves

I see no point in changing a system that has worked well so far. Coady is an outstanding captain and until recently our defence has been solid. Kilman is sadly missed and giving way 10 penalties so far hasn't helped. It was unfortunate that Neves got in the way of a Coady pass that led to their second goal. I didn't expect much possession, but we did create a lot of chances. Jimenez and Trincao should have put their chances away, but that has been a major problem for us all season.

I thought the lads did well and given the fact that we dominated the last 15-20 mis or so, deserved the result.

Cinci will be pleased that I thought Air-Nouri had his best game for a while and produced some good runs.

it was fun being in the Wolves end to see that finish, being picky I would have preferred to be in the Upper Shed rather than the Lower as you can’t see the stadium much at the back

Noticeable difference with Neves and Neto in the team yesterday and now it seems there’s every chance Podence will be fit for the City game on Wednesday. With a front line of Podence, Jimenez and Neto then Chiquinho and Trincao from the bench we may be able to offer a decent threat to the City back line

posted on 8/5/22

It's taken Neto a while to get back up to speed, so I'd rather Podence came on from the bench tbh. Neto and Trincao for sure. Still not convinced Jimenez is worthy of a start.

posted on 8/5/22

Neto was out for 9 months, Podence for 4 weeks!

As for Trincao he has produced some good moments in his games but in no game yet has he really justified playing a full game. Think sub is his position at the moment

West Ham ahead early at Norwich and in control of the game. That should be enough to clinch 7th place for them

Suddenly Leeds looking favourites to go down

It still take a while to get up to match fitness these days and it wouldn't be a bad idea to give Chiquinho more minutes on the pitch.

posted on 8/5/22

Bruno will have to decide whether to sign Trincao permanently or let him return to Barcelona. Maybe he's made up his mind already, but if he hasn't, it's worth starting him against City.

With Liverpool dropping points yesterday the last game of the season could be a dead rubber for them now and of course just prior to the CL final which could give us a chance of something

posted on 8/5/22

I would not be hugely surprised if we got a draw on Wednesday, would be good to see us known a few in against Norwich but it doesn’t usually go work like that
