Yeah its crazy, isn't it? Even the wording of the amendment makes clear that right to bear arms is based on being in a regulated militia (which is effectively the army in modern US).

Nut cases. It’s just so weird and so idiotic it’s amazing they can’t see the problem. If you’ve ever seen the NRA being interviewed they can be taken apart in seconds by someone half competent, they come across as utter morons.

The gun thing is terrifying to me and the reason I may never visit, never mind consider moving there.

The point is where does it end? Get body armour next thing someone’s got a devastating high velocity tank piercing sniper rifle, so what happens then? Tanks at every shop? Every business or school has its own heavily tooled up army??

The point is, get rid of the guns and you get did of the issue.

At almost every turn, the history of the U.S.A. is a history of all forms of racist and xenophobic violence (physical, economic, administrative) against racial minorities and immigrants from what the nativists consider the "wrong" countries.

Anyone, and I mean absolutely anyone voting Republican needs to come to terms with the fact that they are supporting a party whose only option for remaining in power involves perpetuating the ideals of white supremacy.

They've been doing this through every legislative avenue open to them, they continue to do so, and for as long as they have access to power will attempt to create whatever new legislation is necessary to allow them to cling onto power.

The average American needs to be brought round to seeing this. I am aware many will not see themselves as racist and present a different rationale for their choices and actions, but America needs to start calling things by their name.

What's sad is that they are banning books in some states to keep the youth innocent and at the same time doing school shooter response drills with 5 year olds.
