Geah, i shouldn't have come back to watch the second half. A uHaul truck needs loading still
Well, thats all she wrote. What a massive missed opportunity this season was, any semblance of decent transfer activity and we would be in Europe and quite likely finishing sixth at least. Big summer ahead.
Well all i want now is Amiga to come on and humbly apologise for all his nonsense earlier in the season regarding my view of us being 11-14th and his 6th. One place and two points out.
Made a decent fight of it today and had chances to go 2-1 ahead. Better choice than Hwang for a sub and we may well have done. Wonder how many played their last game for Wolves today
There we go then, Leicester and Brighton win, we finish 10th. So many chances to improve that position recently but can't really say we deserved anything higher.
A huge drop in form over the last 10 games, injuries for sure but ambition wasn't what it should've been. Big summer coming up now.
Massive summer ahead. I fear we won't see what we need.
We may well see one or two good players arrive over the summer. What worries me though is that the players that leave will be even better players.
If Neves leaves, which for me would be the worst scenario, I think it very unlikely that his replacement will anywhere near as good.
Just about any other player leaving we would have an outside chance of replacing them like for like, or even better.
Yeah Neves will be a big loss but he deserves to move on now, we can't match his ambitions at this stage.
I think that’s my concern wulfrun. We will bring players in for sure but will they improve us as a team, time will tell.
We will probably bring in at least one centre back and maybe move to four at the back. But will our defensive record be as good as it’s been for most of the last 5 seasons?
We could lose all of Neves, Moutinho and Dendoncker. We will bring in a couple of new midfielders probably, but will they be as good as Neves has become, and what Moutinho has been?
We will probably bring in a striker or two. But will they be as good as Jimenez was at his best? And will they be goalscorers?
The answer to all those questions needs to be yes if we are to push for a return to Europe.
No apologies needed from me Cinci. I predicted at the start of the season a top half finish, which we have done. The fact we were fighting for a place in Europe, was a nice little bonus, but it wasn't to be.
I am sure when the transfer window opens, you will be calling for the usual millions to be spent, and if that doesn't materialise you will have your usual moan about lack of ambition. It is nothing new, and you are typical of many fans, not just Wolves.
Just listening to a recording of Wolves fans singing at Anfield today. ‘And now you’re gonna believe us, you nearly won the league’
Most worrying thing today is that with Chiquinho, Podence and Fabio on the bench, Bruno again called on Hwang. And again he was so poor. The concerning part of this is that Hwang is the one player Bruno has spent any real money on and if he is going to be given a decent budget in the summer, what quality of player would he bring in. Hwang is not the man for the job, question is, is Bruno?
I know Hwang is an easy target at the moment, but I honestly don't see him as a bad signing. He has to be given time to settle and adapt to our play. I will reserve judgment till next year.
Chquinho is proving to be another shrewd signing, and when you add Sa, Ait and Toti, we have actually done some very solid work in the transfer market.
Oh Amiga, you had a chance to actually be a man there for a minute and admit you were just plain wrong but alas no.
Cinci if I am wrong I am the first to admit it. I said a top ten finish, possibly more. Of course there are no certainties, but we have enough quality to be competing in the top half.
We had a good season, you won't agree, but Albion fans would, even if they hate to admit it.
Small matter of 4.4 million lost by the club today.
I agree amiga that Hwang is an easy target. Why? Because he has regularly played poorly. And of course. In your book that doesn’t make him a bad signing. He is a 26 year old signed to make a difference now not in the future.
You are clearly happy for the club to spend £12m on someone that hasn’t worked out. Personally I think we should be signing the right players at the right price, and Hwang has been neither
It's all opinions Spangles. I do think Hwang has enough to prove his worth. But if not we won't lose money on him, so a fair enough signing.
But you are right about the right players at the right price.
Hwang is a poor signing in my opinion. If the clubs policy is to sign players "that at least we wont lose any money on" then i fear for us next season.
Lage deserves more time but i do agree with Spangles that its a real concern that he chose Hwang over Chiquinho, Podence and Fabio. Real bad decision!!
Of course we will lose money on him. After such a poor season his value will be nowhere near £12. You are contradicting yourself with him. He is poor and not the right player. We could have waited to June to sign him, or preferably not, but we paid too much too soon. So not the right price. All very well having these principles but meaningless if you can’t accept when it doesn’t work out
Have to say Vinnie my opinion is divided over Bruno. I have thought for much of the season he has done well but I do think our recent poor performances must be put partly at his door. And he seems to have lost the support of some of the players. I will support him if he stays but would not be surprised if he didn’t. It’s a massive summer for the club and I hope whatever they decide proves to be the right decision
When you look at current form tables people will choose how many matches to look at to suit their argument. With Wolves I looked at the tables after the last 6 games, 8 games, 10, 12 and 15. In every one of those tables Wolves are 17th
I wonder how much confidence is playing a part with Hwang, he looked alright for £12m, which lets face it isnt much in todays market, when he first signed. Since his injury though he never got back to the same level, I dont think he's playing in the role he's best suited to either, he cant link play like Neto, Podence or Jimenez, he's more of a poacher in the box for me but he's not got the physicality to play up there on his own. I have read that there is pressure on Bruno to play him as Fosun want to see Asian faces in the team so they can link better to the market out there. I dont want to buy in to that but if it were true then I would be very concerned, I guess the club could argue that it is in the clubs interest long term to develop and generate revenue in new markets, but team selection based on ethnicity rather than ability clearly is not on. If Podence was fit enough for the bench then he clearly should have been the replacement for Neto yesterday, Chiquinho second choice arguably Fabio third ahead of Hwang based on current form. So yes questions have to be asked of Bruno on that one, if indeed he is making the decisions.
I saw something from Neto yesterday on twitter saying that everything is ok which is a relief, looked like a serious problem when he went down yesterday.
It is a concern if Bruno is under pressure to play him because he is Asian. And the fact Wolves launched a Korean language radio channel last week does add to that concern. Have to say personally I was never convinced about his ability even when he made that bright start with 4 goals. His ball control, touch and passing looked poor then to me but the goals were a real plus point and he was in the right place at the right time. Love him to prove me wrong but I just can’t see it. I accept £12m is not huge in todays market but in the context of wolves spending in the last couple of years, it is. The amount we spent on Fabio was ridiculous given we needed players to land running but I have far more faith in him coming good than I do in Hwang
It is a remarkable amount of crap Amiga spouts. The guy has no shame.
