Facking hell, some of these predictions
Bookmarked to link at the end of the calendar year.
Somebody asked where Spurs fans’ confidence is coming from all of a sudden.
Newsflash: they do this every single season. When reminded of the fact that they do it every single season, they say, “This time it’s different because of x, y, z…” When reminded that they also said that the previous season and maybe there’s a lesson to be learned, they say, “No, no, no, not this time.”
Then come October…
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All of this.
Be no surprise to see Conte gone by this time next year.

This is the key point that rival fans don’t seem to get (or choose to ignore). It’s not confidence, it’s optimism.
We have easily one of the top four managers in the league. Scored third highest points tally after he joined. Have strengthened in both January and this summer, and we’re likely not finished with our business.
It might all come crashing down and we end up scrambling to finish in Europa conference position, but we have plenty of reason to be optimistic right now.
Yeah oppo fans are being weird. Feel pretty confident that we're a good bet for clearing 80 points. I think the goal should be to set a new club record points total - not saying we'll hit it but that should be what we're aspiring to achieve. No reason why we shouldn't be hoping to see an improvement from last season, it's not irrational overexcitement whatsoever.

There’s improving, which you may well do and personally I’d expect; and then there’s believing you’ll finish above arguably two of the three best sides in world football over the last five years, with the top two managers in the game, and both of which were absolutely streets ahead of everyone else (including Spurs) last season.
The bookies currently have City at 8/13 for the title, and Spurs at 14/1. Third would be a commendable achievement. Any higher than that would be miracle territory.

Chillwell and James both back to full fitness too, they really missed them for large parts of last season.
A massive part of their attack.

either or youd think will be best positioned for 3rd
Chilwell seems to always have injuries in his career so far though tbf
think their defence isnt really an issue, see how their attack clicks
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think they will be right on our tails tbf with Spurs a little further back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Id never be foolish enough to predict Spurs winning anything BUT.. worthy noting....
1) Spurs had the 3rd most points gained (behind City & Liverpool) from when Conte took over
2) Beat City twice and drew with Liverpool twice
3) Have upgraded their squad to a greater extent than anyone in the league
As those with far greater experience than me of winning teams knows... You need a strong spine in your team..... Lloris, Dier, Romero, Bissouma, Bentancur, Kane & Son.... Is very decent & Conte is winner.... Spurs will be no mugs this year
I don't think there will be a ton of points between City, Spurs and Liverpool

Sorry I just don't get the hype.

Correct me if I'm wrong as we do have our fair share of idiots, but I don't think anyone is predicting that we'll finish 2nd on the logic that we'll hit 90+ plus points. It seems to be that anyone predicting a second place finish is doing so because they think one of the top two will fall off this season. Which I understand being sceptical of, as am I, but that's surely more of a problem with how they perceive Liverpool or city rather than how they perceive their own team

Read back; there are at least two Spurs fans I’ve seen placing them at the top of the tree (and we haven’t even seen Sandy yet&hellip, and others in second.
Spurs finished *21pts* and *39 goals* behind Liverpool last season. Even if Liverpool drop off (could happen, but no obvious reason for them to) and Spurs improve massively, a 22pt swing is vast.
