Vidal, can you ask the town elders why they didn't put a station/platform at the new Shrewsbury ground?

Bleeding track runs right next to the ground and it's a right trek from the station!

I never thought after the Birmingham game that we were in any danger of going out of existence. 30,000 loyal customers was always going to attract a buyer. It was always just a question of how much.

The original ground was quite close to the station, just a short walk along the river. There isn't really a convenient spot for a new platform near the ground and I suppose it wouldn't really be worth it. As you say it is quite a long way now. I don't know if you are hinting at a lift or not, Scouse, but maybe it can be arranged.

No vidal, I'm not hinting at all. It's just the short sightedness of planning when we're supposed to be saving the planet. They should have put a platform next to the ground and run a shuttle during match days.

Hoping to get a ticket for the away day, but will still need to miss a good portion of the SH if I do.

The Baseball Ground halt was used once in it's lifetime. Not a great investment. .

Were you a true gent you would have offered a lift without asking.

I never knew that.
The idea was to prevent away fans causing problems in the warren of streets around the ground. That jitty between Osmaston Rd and Columbo road was hard to police. .

....I noticed at the bottom of the article in the DET the following : "N/A Nathan Byrne - The player’s EFL registration continues to be held by Derby County"....I hope this drags on until the transfer window closes so Mr Byrne has no club to go to....

This is bad news, if you don't have a number 2 you eventually die.

I know that Igor usually runs the Derby 606 "Outreach" programme. Was expecting someone to extend the hand of friendship to our new friends in League One. View has put the thread on the Oxford board but they don't seem to have one of their own.........

Popped over to the Bolton match thread to wish them all the best. 👌

Out of curiosity why are we wishing Bolton goodwill? They were always a bogey side for us and I still rue that signing ...the masterstroke of Big Sam getting Youri Djorkaeff and single handily dragging Bolton out of the relegation zone and condemning us to relegation under the Jim Smith / Colin Todd/ John Gregory season.

(Our management structure had nothing to do with it!)

One of the reasons I never believe in the 6 pointer. When we won at Bolton I thought we would be safe, instead we lost the next game at home and they won away.

That signing showed Bolton that if you get a world class player you can survive in the Premier league. It started an addiction that like all addictions bankrupted them but at least they had some good memories. Unlike when Mel had the same addiction with us.

Are you suggesting that Sammon wasn't world class Spart?

I don't like Bolton cuz their fans threw rotten eggs at me at Burnden Park in 1967. What a smell!

It was just after the Summer of Love, not that I got much, I don't think it got to Derbyshire.

I was at that game, can't remember any rotten eggs though. Maybe they knew you were a Tory.
