You don't know me well enough to understand my mindset. I like to respond and clarify if in doubt my posts, if that is seen as argumentative so be it.
In the case of ginger it's he said he speaks for millions, I would never be so bold as to make such a claim. He then clarified that was based on the national press, I would not rely on them either.
Still a bit annoyed my weekend was ruined because of the games being called off (and further inconvenienced by road closures today).
I would have happily stood in silence at the game yesterday.
Not sure I'd have been happy to have GSTK played though.
It's just another example of the poor treatment of football supporters once again by authorities, just because a tiny minority are a bit irritating.
Brings up an interesting thought; is the coverage from the news verging on “forced” grieving and exaggerating what the thoughts and feelings are across the country? I saw the sky news mis-attribution of a march against police violence as a procession for the liz windsor.
The press don’t just reflect public opinion. They create it.

So this cancelling of football this weekend was in an effort to protect the ‘brand’ of the monarchy. Imagine showing the rest of the world that live goes on uninterrupted and people enjoy themselves with the showcase that is football while sparing nothing more than a moment on the monarchy.
It was an enforced paying of homage. Nothing more, in an effort to remain relevant.

Well, my view is based on the fact that Liverpool fans never respect the national anthem and openly brag about rejecting the monarchy.
It’s hardly a leap to suggest that a minority of fans in the ground may not respect a minutes silence for the queen or indeed chant something inappropriate during the game.
You call it nonsense based on what, exactly? Hurt feelings?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it’s nonsense as you just proved in this reply Winnie.
You started off with “ inevitable poor behaviour of Liverpool fans during the minute silence.”
When told that it would have been respected and that you couldn’t back up your point you then pivoted to : “ Liverpool fans never respect the national anthem”
You’re conflating the minutes silence with the national anthem which effectively bootlicking of a privileged person placed as head of state through the accident of birth.

Ginger, they didn’t make this decision on their own. For sure the palace / officials were leaned on.
I suspect that the government leaned on them to an extent, but I expect this decision was made primarily by the English Premier League as they didn't want to have anything that would damage the brand or marketability of their league.
Once that decision was made, it was a domino effect across the other leagues and, unfortunately, into Scotland.

I'd like to think the baldy kant wouldn't have had an issue with kids having a kick about ffs
Again though, I suspect it was a decision by the premier league rather than the FA since the FA has no direct involvement with league games?

I suspect that the government leaned on them to an extent, but I expect this decision was made primarily by the English Premier League as they didn't want to have anything that would damage the brand or marketability of their league.
Once that decision was made, it was a domino effect across the other leagues and, unfortunately, into Scotland.
Ridiculous that kids football in England was impacted by it though. That's taking it way too far.

Yep.
Installing himself there so as to hold some sway over football.

I'd like to think the baldy kant wouldn't have had an issue with kids having a kick about ffs
Again though, I suspect it was a decision by the premier league rather than the FA since the FA has no direct involvement with league games?
