Overall quality. Players can get tired, bad form etc but class is permanent and Kane has done it longer in EPL than Haaland. I remember a year when Michael Ricketts looked world class and he soon fell away.

Did Ricketts play in the champions league and break the record for a player to get to 20 goals the quickest?
You want to judge them on goals, that is your best option. The champions league.
Right now Kane is a better all round player but Haaland has time on his side and can overtake him.

I don't read much into all these UCL goals Haaland has scored. A lot of them were against shyite teams and Kane has already played in a UCL final.
You can say 'Haaland has time on his side' but so did players like Rooney, Fowler etc who peaked around 21 and then burned out whilst failing to reach their potential. The big worry on Haaland is his injury record, I think he could be in his prime now and a few injuries down the line he'll never be the same.
Kane all round is better. Problem is that Haaland is a better number 9, and that's all that City need.

Kane 16 for flair?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. The way he can spot a pass, find a yard to open up space for a teammate who scores.
Haalands a level above even if its early days potentials clear he will be messi/ronaldo level if he stays fit. Kane never was.

When he stops scoring it'll be like they're playing with 10 men. Mark my words... same with us and Ronaldo last year.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not necessarily. Rooney at Haaland's age was a far better player too but he never hit those true Euro 2004 heights again. Same will more than likely happen to Haaland.
Also depends what you mean by all round. Haaland certainly has pace and strength over Kane.
I do think people (tbf not fans on here) are quick to compare Haaland to players like Drogba and Ibrahimovic, where the only similarity he has to either is height/strength. Haaland is an interesting breed of striker. In fact I can’t think of anyone you could compare him to who’s played at highest level likes he’s doing. For example something scary is that despite his height he’s not *that* good in the air.
Anyway. Just random thought. I think this debate (Kane vs Haaland) is interesting but has more weight to be discussed later in season.
I even think there’s merit to what Culer is trying to say to Haaland. Is it sustainable for a player to score as much as he’s doing while barely touching the ball? I know his scoring record has been great literally everywhere he’s been but I’m not sure if he’s always been this not involved in play until joining City. If he/City go through bad run of form it’ll be interesting. But yeah as above, gotta see how it plays out over season.
Culer you’ve definitely underrated Haaland pace in your calculation.

Haaland will be City's biggest problem when he stops scoring... even with his injury record if he goes out the team they're in big trouble because he is bailing them out a lot this year. Over-reliance on someone so injury prone is very risky by Pep.
No his pace is overrated, very rarely does he expose a defender for pace.. yeah he accelerates quickly but he's hardly Mbappe/Rashford/Salah fast.

I think it's clear that Kane has the all-round ability to drop deep and spread the play with assists and creative passes. Haaland just runs in straight line and score goals
City has creative players so they just need a non thinking player who can just hold the line and make runs and finish. That's Haaland.
Each suits their team.
I know, but some attributes are more important than others.

Haaland at Spurs scores less and gives less to the team

An overall picture has to be painted, otherwise you could start saying prime Walcott was better than prime Van Persie just because he had one attribute (speed) above him....
Kane has done it at spurs, even when we were playing ultra defensive rubbish under Jose.
That is and always will be a bigger achievement than going to the premier league champions who have a huge financial advantage over every other club in the league, who can buy any player in the world.
Case closed for me
Kane is the better player.

Dribble over that
Kane is clearly better than Haaland. In 10 years time Haaland may be the better player. But a couple of seasons in the German league, and a handful of games in the Prem, don't make him better right now.
