Is looking like a poorer buy by the day. Looks more and more like a guy who just hit a purple patch last year.
To think that deal could end up (unlikely) being over £85m is insane, he isnt even English !! He doesnt even fit the mould for a liverpool striker, a very weird deal indeed IMO.

then who the feck was he crossing to ? it was either a shocking shot or shocking vision to pass to someone not there.
either way he has been dung since he arrived at Liverpool.
Nunez is woeful. Usually Klopp gets it right but considering he was £100 million plus add ons, I am really surprised. Biggest Klopp Flopp signing ever.
Just think Nunez could end up costing more than what Salah, Mane and firminio/jota cost combined!!!

true but we can only judge him on what we have seen so far. And so far it appears to be bad business at 23 he wont improve massively. He may very well be struggling to adapt and it could be temporary. But on the evidence of what we have seen so far it looks like he is a costly error.
It must also be noted however that he has been playing in a team that isnt firing on all cylinders this season.
Amazing to think Liverpool bought him to try to compete with City who had bought Haaland, he is not even close and never will be

Forgetting the 20m each Haaland father and agent pocketed plus he is on 400k a week while Nunez is on 120k a week so there is no comparison.
I remember plenty of scousers pre-season challenging the commonly held view (amongst all outside of red Liverpool) that Haaland would score for fun and Nunez was an untested risk.

Well he has 2 goals and not even played enough minutes to make 3 full games.
He has a better goals to games ratio than Harry Kane.

In the simplistic way, I guess that's right in that every transfer is made with the aim of competing with the best teams.
But Nunez wasn't a response to Haaland, Nunez was a response to Mane deciding he wanted to leave. If Mane had decided to sign a new contract then he wouldn't have come imo.

It doesn't actually. Benfica only get 47m and the agents get the rest. His transfer is actually less than Haaland and if we have to pay more it will mean either he has hit some form or we have won the CL or PL.

Then I would suggest you have a selective memory.
I'm sure there were fans who challenged that view. Fans tend to get carried away, can be overly optimisitic and pinned too much on his good performances against us. But plenty thought Nunez was a risk.
Personally I said a number of times that Haaland improved City but switching Mane for Nunez weakened us.
