cos from the outset it looks like the last time Dundee were in the championship they were one of the best teams in the championship. After a year of playing better attacks, the now find themselves as one of the worst teams in the championship.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Same players? Same manager?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
irrelevant, the point is both rangers and celtic cannot compete agaisnt the better teams cos we dont play against good enough attacks week in week out. So that would suggest playing against better attacks will make the clubs better and improve their levels.

Well Dundee stepped up their level of competition and appear to have went backwards not forwards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The players and managed a club has is irrelevant to whether they continue to be competitive or not?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he is talking about clubs progressing if they are able to play better opposition. His team played better opposition for a year and have regressed since.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah if we had played better opposition whilst in the Championship then we would have been in a better position to play against better opposition when in the Premiership. Your point contradicts itself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Both teams have been found out as being not good enough for this level.

Rangers have found out that to even give these teams a game you need your best players out on the pitch.

Most teams would struggle to do well with ALL their first team CBS out injured and having to play two inexpereinced players (one a youth player CB the other a CM) teams like us will get skelped when they have no defenders fit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’ll be Sands you’re referring to, the same guy that folk on here were crowing about that he was keeping CCV out the team for the US?

Well he did? but that is on the US coach surely .... does that magically make him a CB?

he is CM playing in CB facts are facts.

We have been decimated by long term injuries and needs to be addressed. but for eg last night we were missing 4 first team CBS and another 6 regular first team starters through injury.

teams at our level cannot expect to do well with so many of the better players missing.

im talking about the progression and evolution of a team as they increase their level of competition. I didnt think it would be necessary to make a point of saying that teams will add and remove players and the same time is never the same week in week out. I assumed most people would have figured that bit out.

And managers. Huge change that is for a club. That’s why it’s daft to judge Ange’s Celtic based on the team in Lennon’s last season. Add in covid impacts, and the challenges in the finances of a yo-yo club like Dundee, and I just don’t think the point you’re trying to make has any meaningful merit when using Dundee as an analogy 👍 the more general point happy to discuss, but I don’t see what benefit bringing Dundee into it has, other than to attempt to point score with a fellow fan of Scottish football.

are Dundee better now after a year of playing at a higher level than they were prior?

Like I said he came on and suggested that if we play against better attacks we will get better results.

I say if we get better players we will get better results.

I used his own club as an example of a team increasing their level of competition and after a season of prolonged better opposition are now in a poorer position than they were previous to increasing that competition.

Doesnt matter who we play against domestically, in europe the players we have are not of high quality. Its better quality players we need.

If you dont get that then not a lot I can do

Wish we would cut the excuses, sooner you take it on the chin and get behind what needs to be done at the club, the sooner they take notice and do it.

I’ve no idea how many games Jack has played at CB for you-I’ve never known him to start a game there, but you keep going with that line. It looks at a quick glance that all but 1 of his games for the US have been as a CB.

It’s a fairly moot point you’re making, for me.
