Against Iran, yeah. Southgate likes the back three for bigger teams and occasions where he wants to match up the opponent’s formation.

We played a back four in five of our seven games at the Euros. Southgate’s apparent fixation with a back three isn’t actually a thing.

Not for me, he’s shiiiiit for England. Saka and Sterling will probably be pretty easy decisions for Southgate.

The fans can't really racially abuse Foden if he misses a crucial pen, so Saka and Sterling need to be playing.

I actually like him , what separates him from Smalling is how much better he is on the ball

Smalling’s better defensively as well. Especially in the air. I don’t think Tomori’s really that good on the ball either, but yeah looks like Ramos compared to Smalling.
