Is being played at Marbella and the rain is torrential. So much for warm weather training

Wolves ahead after 27. Fine finish from the edge of the box by Bueno

Good to see Wolves playing at a much higher tempo than we got used to under Bruno. The manager constantly shouting from the touch line asking the players to pass the ball quickly

1-0 at half time, with Wolves certainly the dominant team

quite enjoyed the 1st half, looking Ok in possession but still giving the ball away cheaply at times, the good thing is that you can see a difference

Ait Nouri for Bueno and Toti for Collins at the break

On the hour Costa and Guedes replaced by Jimenez and Ronan

Virtually an u23 team for Wolves by 72 minutes and Empoli take advantage to equalise

Podence retaliating with an Empoli defender and may well have seen red in a competitive game

Ended 1-1. Game fell apart a bit as these games do when lots of subs are used. Ronan perhaps the best of the subs

This is what makes me laugh about journalists - especcially the 2nd paragraph - he obviously doesn't read other rumour sites now does he?

Everton have got a ‘better chance’ of signing Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha than Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

What has Phillips said about Cunha?
When asked by GiveMeSport if he believed a move to Merseyside would be more appealing than one to Wolves for Cunha, Phillips was in no doubt that it would be.

He said: “Oh, for sure. Everton have got a good history as a club anyway, and I think what’s more important is Frank Lampard’s pulling power. “If a player is picking between Everton and Wolves, I think Lampard is going to be the standout decision-maker for any player really. We saw it at Chelsea, he single-handedly got players to sign for the club like Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz just with his influence.

“So, I think he can use that again at Everton, especially for a player like Cunha. I think they’ve got a better chance of signing him than Wolves.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah that is pretty embarrassing. I would think a majority of foreign players in particular won't rate Lampard as any kind of great whatsoever. Not forgetting Lopetegui had a far better reputation and has actually won things. Imagine meeting the pair of them, I can't imagine Lopetegui not impressing most.

Turkish team Galatasaray evidently interested in taking Mosquera on loan. Thought he looked quite rusty today and arguably at fault for the Empoli goal. Needs some game time so a loan would do him good

Jonny not in the squad for yesterdays game. Injured again?

Wolves u21s were due to be playing Cardiff at Telford on Saturday afternoon but that game is postponed due to the freezing weather in the West Midlands this weekend

Ruben Neves is in the Portugal team this afternoon with Nunes, Sa and Vitinha keeping Ronaldo company on the bench. They face a Morocco team that includes Saiss in defence

posted on 10/12/22

Who do we want England to play in the semis (chickens well and truly counted)?

Quite like to see Neves up against the England midfield.

Portugal have dominated possession but have done little with it. Morocco probably deserve the lead although it was a balls up by the Portuguese keeper for the goal

Read lots of comments criticising Costa's selection in goal, most suggesting Patricio should have got the nod. Sa for me.

73% possession for Portugal but they couldn’t find a way through. Backs to the wall stuff for Morocco but they knocked out Belgium, Spain and Portugal so can’t say they don’t deserve it. Next it’s England or France in the semis

Be sad if Saiss is out for the tournament now with his injury but that looks likely

morocco so well organised. Portugal jsut never really got going at them

Wait till they find out Saiss can't play in a back four.

Saiss is just a great player, just not as good as Saville or Edwards according to Paul slimy fack Lambert

posted on 10/12/22

As good as it is for Saiss that Morocco won, its terrible for the neutral observer. The semi finals are hardly looking like enticing games with Croatia and Morocco playing defensive football.

Brazil v Argentina and England / France v Portugal would have been much more exciting.

Croatia have only won one game all tournament and are in the semi finals.
