Yeah it's a good point....the surnames are for the most part European

So in the UK, Brazil and The US etc.......a lot of black people are completely severed from their heritage and often have adopted family names given by slave owners etc.


They should be treated with utmost respect and sensitivity.....

I dont think its an especially difficult subject to understand but who am I to judge.

I suggest before creating an article giving an opinion involving race and nationality that you take the time out to learn the difference.

Got it. Yeah I think you shouldn't have created an article. As said above - if you care that much try and know what you're talking about. If you don't, don't make articles about race and nationality based on ignorance.

Look I'm a 3rd generation immigrant, maybe two thridss of my friends are 2nd/3rd generation immigrants from Asia, Africa, Middle Eastern.

We love England, we are here because its a good place. None of us consider ourselves english, we don't eat English food.....our weddings aren't English.....our traditions aren't English. We don't look English.

It would benefit us to be English in a lot of social circumstances....we of course have the same rights and freemdoms as everyone else here.....its wonderful.

Being a famous footballer is obviously a very different thing.....but I'm talking from someone who knows.

There are loads of south Asians in Britain, you give us the opportunity to play sport with wondeful infrastructure.....which is is good for us.


However if the England squad was 80% Hussains, Khans, Patels, Akhtars, Alis........it wouldn't be a majority south Asian.

Unfortunately south Asians aren't as athletic gifted genetically as Africans so that'll likely never happen.

the facts are you were born in England therefore by definition of the world nationality you are English.
