€170m and 8 players signed is no ambition ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And what about the defence? Terribly neglected and the same old s** CB’s stinking the place out. Conveniently forget that though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Emerson cost about 30m didnt he?
Sanchez about 30m?
Romero 40m?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Signed Spence too and chucked him in the reserves pretty much.

Yep and this is the point. Spurs needed a top RWB and instead signed a young unproven player with potential value. That’s all the owners and Levy care about is making money. Now, we’re left with a guy we don’t play and Chicken Royal stinking out the place. There’s no spinning at all, there has been neglect in spending what is required for years and is a reason why the club don’t win anything. 1 league cup in 23 years is proof in the pudding. The club don’t invest enough on quality to propel us to a new level like the Liverpools, City’s, United, Chelsea of this world. Just a fact.

Sigh, well if you want to pretend ENIC have not spent €645,000,000 in the past five seasons you crack on but it looks silly just do you know, mainly because Spurs most definitely have.

Massively increased the wage bill too.

Just poor and wrong angles on recruitment baring landing on our feet about last Jan

There were a few arsenal fans that used to say the kroenkes didnt invest enough, despite having one of the highest net spends in Europe.

The problem was the club spaffed the cash on utter shiiiiit.

Poor player profiles have been targeted and lack of cohesion with the recruitment and the managers

Also managers incorrectly using players too

It's frustrating but we are going to have to take a step or so back again and cut out people from the squad who have been there a while or have not worked out at the club, then build back up again getting the recruitment correct with everyone at the club singing of the same hymn sheet

Who players are is not really the problem cause the more unknown players usually turn out better and into the gems that can propell you

Matar Sarr? Who the AF are these players?

Lots of talk on Twitter right now that Conte doesn't have the full backing of everyone at Spurs. Pochettino rumoured to be back in the equation.

Honestly, I really think that this is Conte's last 6 months with us. If the budgetary constraints at Spurs are true and the problematic Juve board have now stepped aside over in Italy, everything points towards a parting of ways with Poch coming in to replace him in the summer.

Let's face it, this experiment will not work if Conte isn't backed and Poch is the only man we know that can work miracles on a smaller budget. If we're not going to change the way we operate, there's little point in keeping Conte as he won't be able to perform the way he can if he's not provided the tools.

Most Spurs fans seemed really happy with this summers business too from what I saw.

Expecting the club to break the 200m bracket is daft though imo.

Edu and arteta got together with the same vision at arsenal, binned all the older ego driven players and signed players who were to feature straight away with the attitude to work in the teams set up

Strengthened the squad on paper I guess but the first xi didn't improve on the back of it which is always a poor effort from a window

I dunno why Spurs fans want the club to make loads more big money signings anyway given the crap they’ve bought when they do.

Exactly

What do you mean exactly?

Why do you expect Spurs to spend more than 200m in one season? It's bonkers.

Read what he said ffs 🤦‍♂️ the 1st 11 wasn’t strengthened properly. You coming from a Liverpool perspective is really weird when your club consistently back the manager with the required quality. Ours doesn’t, it’s as simple as that.

Yeah so you spent 80m more than us this summer and that's with us selling a star player and first teamer.

Honestly, what you're writing has zero credibility.

Write about how poorly the money is being spent because saying Conte hasn't been backed is utter nonsense.

The defence was clearly a major issue and it wasn’t strengthened. We bought a young unproven RWB who doesn’t play when clearly RWB was our weakest area and our CB area was needing quality and we bought a loanee reject from Barcelona. If you can’t understand the frustrations from the supporters, then pointless debating with you

That’s because you have not needed to spend. Your owners had already accumulated the quality in your squad to consistently compete to win trophies and you have spent enough on the required quality to do this. Your situation with the Liverpool owners backing Klopp are literally streets ahead of ours.

I didn't say I couldn't understand the fans frustrations, I said saying Spurs don't spend is utter bollox, because it is. It's not even up for debate.

I thought Conte was supposed to be world class anyway, he doesn't sound it from what you're writing.

Like Klopp, he still needs backing with quality. No chance Klopp does any different with this current Spurs defence. Not a hope in hell.

Klopp didn't spend a penny in his first year and we made too finals... because he actually is world class.

I think net spend is bollooocks too (in most cases), was just trying to make a point here.
