And 95's such a round number too.

Is it? It's the right number. Although it might be 94 or 96. Either way, it's an astonishingly high number.

Whoosh!

From the “going fur 55” brigade, I’d have thought 95 was sufficiently round for them 😃

Interestingly per the SPFL's stats centre (https://spfl.co.uk/stats-centre), Rangers have had the most shots and most shots on target in the league so far this season. Glad we can now dispel the myth of Celtic being the more attacking team (if not the better goalscoring team )

The point has clearly gone over your head. One of the main points on this article was that Celtic are more attacking team so should get more penalties.

Not sure it should be surprising that Celtic work clearer opportunities and are more clinical.

It hasn't gone over my head at all.

First of all he talks about how the stays dispel a myth.

First of all, there is no myth.

Secondly these stats would not dispel one even if it existed.

All it does is indicate that Rangers are a more direct team with less finesse. It does not prove that they are more attacking.

You should maybe think things through before you start with your stupid, smug sarcasm.

Your response completely missed the point Not sure the thought process on how more shots on goal indicates we are a more direct team? Shots on goal are clearly a greater indicator of a team being attack/around the box, you know where you get pens. And not an indicator of style of play.

And did you watch us under Gio It was a welcome relief from the slow laboured possession when Goldson took responsibility and tried to switch it or go long. The slow style of play didn’t work.

Happy that under Beale we’ve played with a higher tempo and been more direct.

Arsenal, Brighton, City & Liverpool have the most shots recorded at goal in EPL, they must be direct teams with less finesse.

This is simple.

Celtic get the ball around the opposition box and keep passing to build better quality opportunities. They score more goals.

Rangers get within shooting distance and shoot. More shots, fewer goals.

This is no way suggests that Rangers are a more attacking team.

Yea that was exactly my point where I said Celtic work better opportunities…

Don’t think anyone was arguing that Rangers were more attacking. Simply that goals scored was not evidence of Celtic being more attacking. As apparently Celtic scoring more goals had meant they were more attacking. No arguments they are more effective.

Looks like VAR got one wrong in the game between Hearts and St Mirren. Still, nothing's perfect.

I think WPP was arguing exactly that.
Mind you I only based my assumption on his comment that Celtic being more attacking was a 'myth' so I could have misinterpreted it.

I was more making a facetious point that it's a futile pursuit to make generalisms about which team is the "more attacking" based on headline stats such as goals or shots, but it's not as fun when you need to explain it.

posted on 19/5/23

I don't understand why you'd want more penalties. Winning trophies by being awarded fewer penalties is an indication of a team playing a style of football that means that the opposition isn't even in a position to prevent goals by fouling in the box.

Look at the space Kyogo gets in to for his goals against Rangers

Was curious to look at the list of points made in the OP.

Bernabei pen (Utd)
https://youtu.be/ZsojzlFtjb8 (incident at 1m30sec)

After a header on target the ball hits his arm which is raised behind him after competing for the ball.

Handball – Law 12
The ball touches a player’s hand/arm which has made their body unnaturally bigger.
The ball touches a player’s hand/arm when it is above their shoulder (unless the player has deliberately played the ball which then touches their hand/arm).

Either rule could be accepted in this case.
