Team for Man City on Thursday

Conte doesn't do "new" or "different".. all he knows is Defensive, pragmatic, "try not to lose" football.

Not a hope in hell he'll drop Hugo or Kane

I'd go...

I'd be heavily surprised if either Hugo or Kane were dropped for you against City?

I'd be even more so if Conte changed his shape, system or approach, it could happen I suppose and I get that a fair few fans would like it to but he doesn't seem the kinda man who would do so?

Either way it will be interesting on Thursday to see the team, shape and approach from gthe players

I’m surprised that the players, led by Kane, haven’t told Conte that they’re not happy with the system…That it’s clearly not working…. That they would like to revert back to 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3???

I will be very disappointed if either starts. Lloris would be rewarding poor play, by saying however bad you are, you aint getting dropped. That would send out a really bad signal to the rest of the side, that they can play badly and never get dropped.

And Kane what would be the point of keep playing a player that will be gone in a few months. Makes absolutely no sense. I have no problem with him wanting out, but I don`t want him playing for my club, if that is the case.

I think Thursday will be an embarrassing end to Conte's reign...... I honestly don't think he'll be in charge by the time we play Fulham on Monday.

There's still time in the window... I don't expect Conte to sign a new deal, we won't need to trigger the extension and given how short his original contract was, we are only paying him off for half a season... Poch is available to start immediately & still knows some of the starting 11

No clue whether its the right move but I think Poch will be in place by the weekend and the team will look like this

Has he intimated that he does want to leave or is it just a general feeling amongst some fans? each to their own but for me if he is fit and hasn't said anything you have to play your best player in the big games?

As for Hugo I just think that Conte wont drop the captain and replace him with Forster, who btw I do like and enjoyed at Celtic for a while but I just cannot see him dropping him, the team list will let us know whats what at approx 7pm Thursday however

It's all rumours. Where's the quote, from Harry, that he want's to leave anyway?

The man is a professional, more than most of our team. Whether he wants to leave or not, he'll still play to his best and he's the only player that can score for us at the moment.

You put your strange vendettas before the interests of the club, which you claim to be the worlds best supporter of.

Oh sorry I see you said Poch back.

Poch FFS he had his chance, we don`t want that dinnosaur back, wasting millions of pounds on rubbish players.

There is a reason he has been out of work for most of the time since he left last time. He aint that good.

And you want him back.

Apparently strong rumours coming out that he doesn`t want to renew his contract. As I said I have zero problem with that, his choice absolutely.

But I see no point in playing a player if he wants out. Spurs surely have to move forward to life beyond Kane. For to long this one player has been allowed to dominate the proceedings at WHL. That has to stop. No one player should be bigger than the club.

Sandy this is so embarrassingly predictable from you

As soon as I saw your faux outraged comment of wanting Kane dropped because he won't be here next season, I knew there would be a 'controversial' article coming where you would exclude him

And look. How surprising.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What is controversial about not picking a player that wants out. United did it with Ronaldo. So why would not Spurs do it with Kane.

I think Ronaldo at Utd was more clear cut? Kane hasn't as far as I'm aware gave any dodgy interviews or press releases and he certainly hasn't walked up the tunnel before the final whistle?

He might be wanting away but surely he deserves respect and his place in the team until something concrete comes up?

If Kane doesn't play between now and end of season then there's absolutely no chance Spurs make top 4. Probably not top 6 either. And without European football it won't be possible to find a replacement who's even half as good.

Like I said.. I don't know what the right thing is. Poch isn't perfect but I think it's fair to say he did a lot more right than wrong during his time at Spurs.

He defo made mistakes with some signings (NDombele & GLC) but also massively outperformed and improved the players he had through what was a very tricky transitional period for the club....

I read that he and Levy still have a close relationship and I believe both admit they could have handled things better. I get the impressions there's a feeling of unfinished business on both sides... Is it the right call/ will it work ?..... I have no idea..... What is our definition of success ?.. It's not like we have won anything with "world class/ Serial winner" managers

So one rumour and you want to drop one of our greatest players ever?

And you dare criticise the way others support our club?

You have zero credibility Sandy, I’ve stuck up for you in the past but I’m starting to think you are just a WUM

posted on 18/1/23

Pochettino also didn't get any proper time to actually use those two new players before he left. Lo Celso was injured pre-season if I recall correctly, then went on international duty, got injured again, and then Pochettino was sacked before he got fit again.

Ndombele played a few games but Pochettino was gone before the player integrated into the team/league - which no doubt contributed to how badly he ended up settling. Then again his struggles since suggest even Pochettino might have struggled to get a consistent tune out of him

Ronaldo was causing problems in the dressing room and was very much all about himself

Kane has knuckled down, not thrown his toys out the pram and continues to be a model professional by playing well and continuing to play well for us

Again. Sad and embarrassingly predictable from you old timer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How do you know he is not causing problems in the dressing room? You are not there. So you would have no idea. The other players may be starting to resent him getting all the attention, and could be affecting their own performances.
