Anyway, we have got sidetracked from the purpose of the thread.

I'm glad this guy has been punished, and hope he seeks further education on what is and isn't acceptable in todays society.

I wouldn’t say things like that are unnecessarily confusing. I think it’s confusing because their are historical roots into the terms that come from different areas, with different reactions to them and how they are too be updated. Non-white would seen to be a pretty simple categorisation, for example. But the issue with it is using whiteness as the identifier, which doesn’t give agency to the minorities in question.

I think these categorisation are actually difficult and complex, especially for a majority white population that wants to try to be inclusive and not to upset and stigmatise minorities.

Yeah categorising is very complex. Reminds me of the rainbow flag which in its original form was a beautiful representation of all groups but the updates that have needless been added to supposedly make it more inclusive completely misses the point that a rainbow literally represents everything. Plus a rainbow flag looks really cool.
