A Rangers spokesperson said: “Firstly, Rangers condemns in the strongest terms any abuse of match officials. We are all passionate about our game, but targeted, personal abuse of referees cannot be tolerated.

“The club can confirm the Scottish FA has responded with regards to the disallowed Alfredo Morelos goal, with the response claiming the correct decision was taken. The club is astonished by this, especially given most observers, including former referees and former players, could see no issue with the goal standing.

“This comes following a weekend in England where PGMOL have offered an apology to Brighton and Hove Albion for the non-award of a penalty in their match with Tottenham Hotspur, alongside a pledge to review the incident.

Except they don’t have the sacrament of confirmation because they all worship Baal. So they’re just biased.

That statement is just wow. What has the Brighton game got to do with this?!! Brighton were royally shafted by VAR at the weekend … worst I’ve ever seen. 2 100% wrong calls and another 2 that were highly dubious. Rangers get ONE 50:50 call against them (in their opinion anyway) and all hell breaks loose. I know they’re not used to anything going against them from our officials (certainly not pens against), but feck me this reaction is laughable. Also, any apologies forthcoming from THEM about the utterly fabricated Jota “handball”? Couldn’t make this up.

They had a forty+ game run before that one. Must be close to one penalty against in 100 matches.

Doesn’t seem to have been part of their complaint to the SFA. Maybe there is an adult somewhere over at ibrox that pointed out they made themselves look like total t!ts with that comment.

If they want a crumb of compfort the push on Johnston was probably less of a push than the one he did on Mooy that got him a goal in the previous game.
