It's actually clever what they did. The class of 92 is a big thing for Utd fans and I'm sure if they win we will see Beckham being involved down the line.

……

If anything it shows they have some knowledge of our history. The Glazers have no clue about it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

No arguments from me there. They probably think George Best was a goalkeeper. 😂

Also he’s a United fan who wanted to own Chelsea
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Qataris apparently met with FSG about possibly buying Liverpool before we were on the market.

Big Utd fan that Jassim guy though. 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a completely different group. Jassim and his bid is in no way related to the rulers of Qatar 😜
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Same group. Just a different front man. 😂

The money is coming from the same place. Always was and will be. No private individual in Qatar has 6bn to spend on a football club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At least we’d pay our gas bills in the knowledge a small percentage goes to funding our rebuild

What club are we subsidising for our campaigns against the new owners? I feel it has to be unique colours like the Norwich one was. Orange and black til ineos are sacked. I could send down Dundee Utd scarves from the club shop.

Maybe Bradford? Maroon and mustard until the Qataris are flustered?

Two very good options

You do realize that even though they’ll have a minority share they’ll own Class A shares meaning they will still have a disproportionate say in things.

The only way that would change is if the whole share book was bought and reissued.

They may only have 20% or whatever but still have a huge say with voting rights

No they won't.

If you think Sir Jim is giving them 2.5bn to then be vetoed you're incredibly naive.

The voting rights are complex but nobody is that foolish to hand them that kind of money and not have full control.

Sir Jim will have final say for sure or if Qatar win they will of course have no issue as they are going for 100%.

posted on 30/4/23

No I’m just saying that they’re selling him some of their shares not the public’s shares.

They even as minority owners will have a say due to those rights.

Not control, but assuming they’ll be bit part pieces owning 20% is extremely naive

Tourism. Business. The works.

….

One more time, you dunce, they don’t need United for this. They have just held the worlds biggest sporting event there. Less than six months ago.

Business thrives there already. Again, United not needed for that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry but this is really naive mate. World Cup tourism or attracting business on the back of it only goes so far. Its a one off occurrence. Formula 1 is only 1 weekend per year. United would be week in week out for many years to come with a global constantly present fan base.

Entertaining the idea that Ratcliffe would part with upwards of £3bn for anything short of complete control of the club is naivety in the extreme.

Ineos will amend the articles of incorporation and have shot of the existing share structure. Taking the majority of the Class A shares they won’t need the Glazers’ support to do this, and the Glazers will be expecting it to happen.

The majority share holders call the shots. 20% vote is just that. It allows them to stomp their feet if they don't like something.

I’d be amazed if the Glazers have any executive role at the club. They may be greased with non-exec directorships, but Ratcliffe isn’t going to let them near the running of the club.

20% class B shares is worth more voting rights than 80% class A.

Though I doubt Ratcliffe would agree to such a deal.

Nobody is giving the Glazers a couple of billion and allowing them to retain voting power. Jesus Christ. 😂

Sir Jim is the richest British people on the planet. I'm sure he hasn't got there by being a numpty.

We need to wait and see what the plans are. Qatar still in this too. It's not over yet as I don't fully trust journalists to start with.

I don’t really see why the glazers want to keep a stake, unless they think its value will drastically increase in the coming years.

That’s exactly why.

As they’ve done to date, they’ll be following the market and the share price, and cashing in chunks of shares when they see the right opportunities.

“We'll have Doha and Qatar airlines plastered over everything within weeks should they win this auction as they still might do of course. It isn't over yet.”

Why is that any different to being plastered with sponsors as clubs already are?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because of what Qatar are responsible and stand for. They bribed their way to host a world cup, brought in cheap foreign labour, treated the. like slaves and allowed them to needlessly die building their stadiums.

Is that something we should be happy with? I know as a city fan you can't afford to have any morals. Some of us do though.

Liverpool fans wants no part of it either. Plenty have said so on here and on Sky.

You do know Saudi Telecoms already have the rights to use your badge on their advertising within Saudi Arabia?

I do. Not something I am happy about at all.

You're the problem here. The PL should have stopped all this nonsense at the source. States shouldn't own PL football clubs.

States aren’t allowed to own PL clubs.

Clearly the Newcastle one shouldn’t have gone through given the court case in the States though.
