Right then lads, who SHOULD be in the semis of the CL?

Real Madrid - Obviously
Man City - Obviously
Bayern - Only went out to City
Napoli - But Inter put them out?

If the Milan teams shouldn't be there, who should?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The best team in England - City
The second best team in England - Arsenal
The best CL side of recent times - Real Madrid
And Dundee United cos they are the best team in Dundee and the best team in Tangerine.

the EPL isnt as good as you are making out, most money yes, best quality probably not

The likes of Brighton would dismiss Inter and AC Milan.

You're daft if you disagree.

Terrible standard UCL this year. More akin to Europa League.

According to club coefficients, Chelsea should be in the semis.

AC Milan narrowly miss out on making the groups, with Rangers pipping them to a place.

That's how it SHOULD be.

however failing that :

City, Milan, Real Madrid, Bayern

ie the champions of their countries to be in the competition that they call the "Champions" league of which 50-75% of the teams in it are not champions

I'd be against any London clubs being in it really, but if I had to choose one it'd be Chelsea as at least they have some pedigree.

The likes of Spurs snd Arsenal being in it devalues the competition imo.

Barca and Napoli are the champions of Spain and Italy though. Why should this seasons semis be based on last seasons performances?

If you want a true competition of champions it would be played straight after the completion of the domestic season with no transfers allowed.

If they are "champions" they shouldnt be getting knocked out to teams 4th from I taly or w.e either, should they? Bit of a weak excuse that.

Brighton have never been in the CL so I could see the likes of inter or AC winning that, even if they are not as good. The Italian clubs are European giants and that would surely play on Brighton's minds.
Look at city for example in the past decade, with billions in the bank to splash.

I'm not sure who needs to hear this but 'Champions League' is just a brand, it's not literal and never, ever, has been.

Ah yeah, wrong on that.

In fact it was called the Champion League in part, even when it was also called the European Cup.

Regardless, it's pretty moot these days.

yeah largely down to the dilution by letting too many teams in.

It used to be far more unpredictable, teams were not more or less guranteed entry to it , it had far more depth in competition.

Think it was originally called the the Euro Champions Cup, then when the format changed to a league format it was the champ league as we know it now.

I cant remember how many years it ran like that before they started to allow teams a number of teams in, and now we are in a stage where a relegated team can qualify for champions league.

its just laughable to call it it the champions league when they changed the format the should have have changed the name.

Milan have 3 strikers that are a level above Man Utd 1 choice striker this year in fact !

you dont have just walk into some landmines do you Culer......
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Milan have 3 better strikers

Rashford
Antony
Garnacho

All walk into their teams. Sancho would probably start too.

I genuinely think if we were in the UCL this season, we'd have at least made the final. Neither Milan side would be able to live with us. Then the final game is only 90 minutes and anything can happen

aye I suppose Bruno fernandes is a better striker.

If you categorise those three as strikers your dumber than most on here think you are which is saying something.

"Striker" Antony has scored less goals in his career than 3rd choice striker Lukaku at Inter has in his last two seasons.

Culer, I think football all across Europe is sub standard. Including the Prem. Some awful defending in the Prem right now, and goalies are a joke with the amount of absolute howlers they concede.

Couldn’t agree more Sandy. This UCL is no better than the Europa League.

We would beat Real Madrid in the final. We have already shown this season that we are better than any Spanish team.

I am not getting into territory where we fall out again. Seriously we have been getting along, yet you continue to antagonize me on my articles by posting provocative and argumentative comments over and over again.

I will not reply to you anymore on this thread and if you carry on being disruptive then I will have to take action I don't want to. Please try to be mature.
