Jesus, how tall is his mum then
Blimey, Rob Key is 6'1" according to Google. Not only does that make my joke fall flat on its @rse, but I honestly thought he was a midget
I'm guessing his mum is some sort of succubus making the management of the England cricket team love her son even though he's a hopeless caaaant.
What's interesting is comparing Pope and Crawley.
They've both played a similar number of games, similar ages, similar stages of their career. Prior to Bazball they both averaged 28, and have since both been backed massively by the management.
However 12 months later Crawley still averages 28 whilst Pope is now just shy of 35.
That's the thing, isn't it. The management talk about Crawley as though his big breakthrough is always just around the corner, just an innings or two away. But it hasn't happened, ever, at any level, to suggest that it could happen again at Test level.
Contrast to Pope, who's got a bonkers domestic record - he's improved despite being in a new role
Excellent point. Crawley has basically just been encouraged and backed to do play his natural game and its seen no improvement. Progress isn't linear and maybe he will suddenly pop but Duckett, Pope and Brook have been scoring a ton of runs in county cricket so seeing them succeed on the test scene isn't really a surprise.
Just me or does Vaughan sound noticeably less mouthy on TMS
I hope we keep batting here, give the chance of Brooks and Stokes to have a good go with the bat to get them ready for the summer. So much time left in the game still.
I mentioned it before, but Adil Rashid has a higher First Class average than Crawley.

Think his throat is still hurting after watching Sheffield Wednesday go up at Wembley the other day so he's talking less. Just need him to go to a play off final before every test that he's commentating on.
This is no Test match.
Will these stats count towards the players’ official careers? A 4-dayer vs Ireland lol

Think Bairstow will likely come in before Stokes if England don't declare once Pope reaches 200
We’d get better Ashes prep playing vs County teams or some state teams from Aus/India
Ireland are more interested in qualifying for the world cup. They've "rested" their best seamer. This is why we are laying into Crawley
Whoosh, double ton for Pope and stumped.
Great way to bring up a double ton.

I mean, it's not the ONLY reason
205 and out.. England declare
Difference between Crawley's choppy 56 and Root's relatively untroubled 56 is that Crawley will claim his as one of those Match-Defining Contributions (TM) whereas Root will see his as disappointingly average and a failure to cash in
you wanted a 1000?? we'll do that against the Aussies
Wont be easy to bowl them out again cheaply. the pitch is dead
Crawley's 56 gave Duckett the platform to score his 182.
Hopefully Josh will get them a tongue lashing
Its only a 4 day test match? did i hear that right?explains the declaration
