Nobody’s crying, just calling out the filthy sportswashing for what it is.

I’d never accept it even at my own club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All these awful regimes are not incompatible with Western (European mostly) values and have seen what collective Western governments have done to Russia.

So, they are investing in these shores to keep it going their dictatorship govt. Now, you cannot sanction any of these countries no matter how bad they behave. It's like an insurance policy.

For example, after Skirpal's incident Briton kicked off few Russians. But nothing is done when Dubai rulers' daughter kidnapped in broad daylight on Briton streets.

So, your shouting is nothing more than nuisance to all these people; sadly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Human rights? We bombed some of their countries to stone age, e.i Iraq and Libya over flimsy and non-existent reasons with thousands dead. And offcouse our arms industry exist thanks to their purchases. And their rulers are great friends of the West because of this! 🤣

Just imagine if Louis Edwards had stuck to selling bad meat or the Moores family had just concentrated on encouraging people to gamble.

English football would be very different to what it is now

Just imagine if your braincell met another, and multiplied, you would be able to see the stupidity of that comment.

This silly rant from the OP is similar to the oblivious Chelsea fans that were trying to say that Chelsea had nothing to do with Abramovich's ties to Putin, or were defending him. One guy, Tway, was even justifying putins actions!

You can't just accept the benefits of state ownership and pretend that the geopolitical and moral issues relating to said ownership don't exist. If you're happy to accept the good points of their ownership then you need to deal with the negative connotations of it too.

Care to expand?

Didn’t the families I named diversify from their core businesses?

Yes. But so would have anyone else who bought them instead of the people who did.
Not to mention equating their failings seventy years ago, to some modern middle east countries.

So an investment abroad by a member in a government means such investment is state-owned? So Sunak's investments abroad are UK state-owned?

The man buying the club is worth about €0ne billion according to reports. Where are the other billions coming from?

Don’t mind investors from those regions investing, I’d also argue not all countries or individuals are equal whatsoever. I do have an issue when it’s a fully state owned entity doing it (and the PIF with golf is a different scenario entirely on top).

No you tag them "evil" for their action but don't apply the same rule to your country.

A desert country with little natural fresh water, what food will they be majorly exporting, what grows in sand?

Not giving an opinion either way on the ownership debate, each to their own there but our Govt, good, bad or indifferent are at least democratically elected and can be changed?

Again no opinion there either but GB's investments abroad could be viewed from a varying perspective and narrative than theirs?

It won't be an individual buying it according to reports Melt, he doesn't have the money personally.
Agreed not all countries are alike, I don't like Qatar based on what I read.

Is that what they intend on doing? Seems a bit weird when we could buy directly from the source? That said my business understanding is not high

Yeh seems to make fiscal sense for them, it would, for me anyway, just be simpler, and better to goto the source of the imports and cut out another additional stage for the food? as I said I have a low level of how mega business works so could happen

Ah, havent seen you on here for a while. Got any more made up stories about your homosexual neighbours and incestual work colleagues? That was entertaining.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
stick to what you are good at ( ! ) Yorkshire, thinly veiled made up stories designed to start an argument about things you hate…

I reckon they're facked once the oil is no longer in demand. These investments and plans can never be a substitute for what they make from oil.
