they basically tore up contracts to get rid of a lot of players too to reset, so not much of that has been recouped in sales.

could end up being a problem for them but football is dominated by money now, and rarely other factors win you things these days so they have needed to spend this much to try compete with the likes of Chelsea and Man City

Seems that its the going rate to win an FA Cup.

United have spent £700m in the last 5 years and won the EFL in 5 years

This and over those 8 yrs, wherever we finished ,we still made money from match days, shirts, sponsors, sales (like every other PL club) etc. I don't understand what the OP is trying to get at.

This reduced our wage bill tremendously, which allows us to spend more within the FFP structure.

Also, I read we just received 150 odd mill just for finishing 2nd. The league is a joke.

Sandy, I think what you are missing is that Spurs are in a position to go more or less toe to toe with Arsenal - we actually make more than them, have a lower wages to turnover ratio and more varying revenue streams. Our problem is that Levy doesn’t want to spend that much - which I won’t knock him for as we do spend a lot ourselves and I would be appalled if we dropped £170m on Rice and Havertz.

Our biggest problem every window is all the diiicking around that happens anytime we need to buy a player in a crucial area. We are crying out for a CB - we buy an attacking mid, a wide forward and a goalkeeper even though Loris hasn’t even gone yet.

At CB we currently have the following options - Romero, Dier, Sanchez, Rodon, Tanganga and Davies in the hybrid role - absolute poverty, Romero is the only one who should still be at the club

Yeah I said this last summer many times, KSE is going #AllIn

Basically KSE realised that to win you have to go ‘all in’.

We first saw the rewards when our NFL arm, the Rams, reached the SuperBowl in 2018/19. Since then we’ve spent heavily across all sports and had huge success - capturing titles in the NFL, NBA, NHL, NLL and coming 2nd in the EPL.

I think you are missing the point. My point is that Arsenal have spent over a billion for one top four finish. Is that what you want Spurs to do.

Spurs have spent alot less over the period for more topfour finishes and CL final. I think I prefer the Spurs model.

Spurs built a brand new stadium with what it cost Arsenal for one top four finish and a few 5th/6th place finishes.

Couple of other things to note here.

You can’t use the amount spent on Rice, Havertz etc. now and compare that vs results in the past.

Aubameyang was actually pretty successful for us. He won a PL Golden Boot, almost won it again, and fired us to an FA Cup title… bagging Wembley doubles in the SF vs City & Final vs Chelsea.

Kane always failed in those big cup games for Spurs.

We've also made about 3.5b in that time too.

You sound very salty Sandy.

Spurs have actually spent just as much, if not more than us if you include transfer fees, wages and agent fees since 2020 I believe. You're slowly creeping up there.

That’s because once the stadium opened we started raking in more than you do. The problem is both sides have filled up on dross. Arsenal though have had some good buys recently and are seeing the benefits of that, although I think you have faaacked up with Rice and Havertz

Why do you think we've facked up with rice? He's quality, and will only get better under arteta.

Agree about havertz though, think that was a stupid signing but I've decided myself into thinking he'll be good.

Someone should tell spurs fans Levys spent 680m on transfers since 2019.

680m in 4 years And theyve not really sold anyone in those 4 years either so net wont be far off that either.

I think the days of calling Levy tight are far gone.
