The allocation change affected every club and was not really any different to what other clubs had been doing to the OF already. Only one set of supporters with a tendency for paranoia immediately made it all about them.

My concern is heading to Ibrox to watch a football game and hopefully enjoying it. My personal experience hasn't been diminished by the change in allocation, in fact it has been enhanced.
Whilst sponsorship might take a hit (although have they? I haven't become aware of any deals changing on the OF allocation basis) the club have benefitted commercially in other ways, which was the point of the change in the first place. Celtic fans still peddle this myth it was about taking the huff because they were winning games when it was a purely commercial decision.

See, this I find really interesting.
The "OF" is the "brand" the fixture is known as globally. Its how sponsors and TV firms position the derby.
So we have a situation where Celtic and their supporters are concerned about the allocation change because of the spectacle and poor sponsors but refuse to refer to the fixture in its branded term.
Seems a bit like the concerns aren't really for the fixture or sponsors, no?

I hate the 4 games a season effort. Id rather expand the league but wouldnt make that choice for personal reasons only if it could enhance our game.
Id love it for Sky to pull out the deal so we can go about getting a better one. the deal with Sky is a fecking disgrace. a 6 year deal that is already poor on the day you sign it never mind what we will be comparing in 6 year time to our peers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You didn't answer for your fundamentalist section but I think I know the answer.
I'd be happy with Euro too. It is at least a reference point that holds some notional justification. However, Doncaster has been weakened and other clubs have jumped on the maximising revenue bandwagon so not sure it would get through. Rangers would have to vote against, right?
Enlarging the league is a non-starter unless you want it even more marginalised. I can see the point of you lot wanting less games against us right enough.
So, no Sky. TNT, early days but it remains to be seen where Warner takes them? Given BT had a share of Scottish football and let it lapse that is their mindset? Probably gearing up to show Saudi league?
Viaplay -
Amazon - god no, it is appalling.
Going it alone - well we tried before and Sky throttled it and have the power to do so again...?
With more and more footy on the box it is getting harder to push yourself to the front. Yeah yeah Austria, Norway, whatever
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree expanding the league prob isnt great short term in terms of marketing and helping the other teams attendances, its a preference cos I think its better for our overall game long term but can equally see either way.
as things stand as I read it we get 2.5m per year in tv rights ... 30m for the league?.... thats disgraceful.
and even if we were to go it alone its worth the risk ! granted thats prob not the case for some of the smaller clubs and could be small minded as Im not totally aware how that would impact the other teams.
But to be getting £2.5m per year if thats what the case is as reported. Terrible promotion of a league that contains two massive teams, massive rivalry, recent european attention. Terrible negotiations of said product with Sky and or whoever.
the value is whank just now in comparison, let alone what it will look like in 5/6 years time. such a handicap going forward.

And that’s my point. Whilst Rangers and Celtic could survive quite easily without the £2.5m, I’d be stunned if the other clubs could without there being material change in how they operate, which in turn would make our league even less “watchable”.
And despite these paltry figures, not one single broadcaster has shown any interest in bettering it to my knowledge.
Making the game less of a spectacle just devalues the league further. People at the game or the keyboard warriors who “don’t give a fwck” are not the countless others paying towards the broadcasting channels because they want to watch these big games with all the noise and bedlam that goes with it.
And with no away fans, that part has gone. It has already been devalued.
In a similar vein, getting 25% more aint gonna change anything either.

c'mon man there is always interest. Any league that has the OF as a selling point will always have interest. Especially with notable names like Rodgers, Gio, Gerrard and Ange (whilst not known at first, he left with a huge reputation for the job he did). a recent euro final.
And if we cannot at least get close to equalling the deals of our peers of similar or less reputation and viewing figures that are close to expiring now (and always increase) then we are screwed until the next decade comes in.
I think its far more likely that certain people are making deals with people that they may or may not be pretty pally with and dont give a fook about the progression of our game, and these rat ba$tards are still in charge for the next 3 years regardless.
killing the league a damn site more than either of us letting each others fans in.
just wait and see how far down the pecking order we will fall in terms of our tv deal over the next 2/3 years or so.
Problem is our teams see more interested in having this stupid spat, and too many fans jump on the bandwagon instead ditching the ego and actually working together to sort the mess that runs our league out. We have the power to do so and are wasting it.
RANGERS Football Club are today delighted to confirm the signing of Danilo Pereira Da Silva on a five-year deal from Feyenoord, subject to international clearance.

It has already been devalued.

c'mon man there is always interest.
