I’m only commenting on what I saw. Saying ‘it’s common place’ doesn’t negate how reckless and dangerous a tackle it was, as well as how stupid it was.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I never said it was or did I just gave context since your post was missing some.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He did it because he’s a liability. I’m not sure what difference the ‘context’ makes.

Still, Zico will be happy. Is that not 3 games and 3 penalties with no red card for Lundstrum?!

La plus ca change…

I should know this, but are coefficient points awarded for each leg, or just the overall result? Always thought it was the latter.

Pretty certain, although I refuse to check, that each leg gets points separately.

I think you get a fixed points for whatever stage you reach rather than points for wins and losses. Same when you get to group stages it is a fixed points but you also then get extra for results.

Qualifying points Europa Conference League
ECL-Q1 1.00
ECL-Q2 1.50
ECL-Q3 2.00
ECL-Q4 2.50
Qualifying points EL and ECL group stages
ECL-GS 2.50 (minimum)
EL-GS 3.00 (minimum)

Bonus points (red) and max match points CL EL ECL
Group Stage 4+12 12 12
Group Stage winner (runner-up) - 4(2) 2(1)
Round of 16 5+4 1+4 4
Quarter Final 1+4 1+4 4
Semi Final 1+4 1+4 1+4
Final 1+2 1+2 1+2
Max total points per club 38 34 30

Rangers “demand” 700 tickets for first OF at Celtic Park, with Celtic refusing their initial offer of the same number

A complete farce all the way through this debacle as I’ve always said; and just what is the point of a tiny huddle of away supporters stuffed into a tiny corner at each away fixture with such low numbers?

Get to the European type away allocations (circa 3,500) which seems to work despite season ticket sales and then something might be workable. Until then, forget it.

I’ve been to Ibrox a couple of times with only the 700 and it’s an awful experience. I’m certain bears will feel the same way at our place under similar circumstances.

Nothing like starting the season off as it intends to go on between us

Meh, understandable when it's their biggest match of the season.

Actually, live threads on the English boards is one of my bugbears from Leeds fans starting them days before games to the teams that run one megathread of all games. Precious souls.

Part of the issue for Rangers fans appears to be the quality of view from that corner of Celtic park and they want moved which I think is fair enough as Celtic fans don't experience the same issue at Ibrox.

Go to European allocations and move them into a corner. Celtic were getting the much better end of the deal before and although we were petty as fook for getting rid of it, we need an agreement because it's spoiling the fixture.

"Demand" is the word the rags use, of course. In reality it's probably just ask.

It might not be a popular view but they might be better having no away fans at either ground. It would surely reduce the possibility of trouble.

I thought we were in a corner at Ibrox?

Oh, you mean move us into a corner that can't be seen on TV? That sounds much like 'we don't want to see Celtic fans celebrating under any circumstances'?

Would be way easier for you guys just to move your TV gantry to the Sandy Jardine so we can all admire your copy of Goodison?

That argument just simply does not stack up. You go to any away ground in the main and you are “stuck in a corner”.

I’ve travelled I think to every EPL and Championship team in England with a fair smattering of many other clubs over a 9 year period and perhaps OT is the only exception to being “stuck in a corner”.

Only Celtic and Rangers with their huge away following get an away end and maybe part of a stand where they seriously outnumber the home support does it change. And even that’s changing as Hearts, Aberdeen and Dundee United now are showing.

It’s not even an argument.

“copy of Goodison”. So true

Been there a few times and the only time we (Villa) got a decent view was in the cup where we got a bigger allocation.

2-1 away win as I recall

Ah ...the old 'stuck in a corner, youse had better seats than us lie'

When will you guys stop convincing yourselves of these huge untruths??

Under the old 7500/7500 split, we had the fairest and safest splits possible given the configuration of the grounds,

Celtic fans had 7500 seats behind the goal at Ibrox with many with bad sightlines and atrocious facilities.

Rangers had 7500 seats too. A small number were in the corner. That corner holds just slightly more than the 750 people that Rangers got under the revised arrangements. So Rangers were getting more than 6500 excellent seats. The stuck in a corner stuff was a fantasy.

Rangers were fed up with Celtic fans celebrating at Ibrox and made the change to keep the gullabillies onside. It's that simple.

They are but it’s the only one with a decent overall view of the pitch. Newcastle as well to be fair although not quite on the same level

ahh the old we know your feelings better than you do.

I couldnt give a fook, give them dont give them matters not a jot to me.

I think their fans concerns should be listened to , when they were directly behind the goal with almost nothing in front of them, those three white bars with the nets was interrupting their view, what a daft place to put it ... right in the middle of the view annol.

Prob take some solace knowing that at the other end its the same.

Indeed. It’s where we are and whilst the “offer” is 700 seats then fwck it. It’s not worth the time or hassle to everyone who goes nor those who have to cater for it.

The “spectacle” as was has gone so let’s not kid ourselves on that score. And as such interest will start to wane other than for each teams diehards. That too in time will go as Scottish football disappears further down the world order. TV companies will also question even the little they put in, again as the “spectacle” isn’t there.

Everyone on here will know many people who watched the two sets of fans bating each other and saying “I’d love to experience that”. Not now.

The times when we’ve had no fans I haven’t missed it one bit and it made me realise how utterly piiish it was even when I was one of the 700.

And our governing masters won’t get involved. It’s a done deal now and I don’t ever see it coming back.
