Looks like young striker Nathan Fraser is heading out on loan. Shrewsbury and Cheltenham have both offered to take him. Will be a good signing for someone

I’d read about Jo-Lo earlier and thought I’d see if anyone on ‘ere’ had any more news .

Bit of a sorry state….I don’t feel the club has moved forward since Mick got the boot

Apologies, I meant Nuno

If, as looks likely, JL leaves I would prefer Potter to O’Neil. His time at Chelsea wasn’t great but that was a difficult job to take on. O’Neil did a good job at Bournemouth, but isn’t inspiring me.

Shame too, given how we chased JL twice only for it to fall over so quickly. Had confidence we would be better this season, less so if we change manager so late into preseason.

No chance of Potter unfortunately. He will now be expecting more than we can give, especially now we are gonna have to pay of Julen

It's a sorry old state of affairs for sure. All we need is JH Baggie to turn up and the farce will be complete.

don’t see why we should be paying him off but football seems to have a law to itself , if he genuinely was misled about the club’s position re FFP maybe he could claim constructive dismissal, but unlikely, more likely Wolves have grounds for dismissal

whatever , a waste of funds for which paying Wolves supporters are contributing

No announcement.

Wonder whether he’s staying put?

Not sure about Potter, he did well at Brighton but their set up seems to be right there, he left, Dezerbi (sp??) came in and things seemed to carry on seamlessly. His time at Chelsea reminded me of Nuno's at Spurs, wasn't allowed to do his thing and probably just not the right fit. So would have a lot to prove. Would take him over O'Neil for sure but got to be better options out there surely. Thing is who would willingly walk in to this shjtshow.

Don’t think Lopetegui has handled himself well and it’s an interesting thought of herecomesthelight that we have grounds for dismissal. Certainly things that should have been discussed behind closed doors not with the press.

But at the end of the day he’s a top manager and wouldn’t be easy to replace, certainly at this timing. O’Neil certainly wouldn’t be my choice even though he was unlucky to be shown the door at Bournemouth.

Think about it though, how weird would it have been if Lopetegui had kept his gob shut and this news had just come out of the blue yesterday. He knew there was no way he could it was going to stay within the walls of the club that he wasn't happy, he's just been open and honest and clearly feels that Shi and Fosun have not.

It's telling that in his remarks that he said the day to day running of the team was fine working with Hobbs and Wild but didn't mention Shi.

What's not clear to me is exactly how this situation has developed, I can't believe that the club did not have a handle on it's FFP position, that would be rank incompetence. Assuming the situation was clear how was it communicated to Lopetegui, he believes he's been continually misled on this issue, if this the case why? I can't believe Shi would deliberately mislead his head coach on such an important issue knowing the consequences.

So has Shi been messed about by the owner and his profitability expectations? This has been a massive and incredibly short sighted price to pay if all this is aimed at making a tiny contribution to Fosun's balance sheet. Of course if you take Jeff at his word, it's all about making sure we compete within the ffp rules and governance and avoid sanction. We'll see what form these sanctions take I guess when Everton get judgement passed on them and clearly Leicester were in a very similar position to us last year. I guess we'll never know the full story but seems to me that the owner has firmly turned off the taps and needs Jeff to deliver returns in the short term at least, maybe as a matter of basic business principle as much as anything. They must understand where this leads though surely as they have a very clear example in Leicester.

Most of the explanation lies in our transfer business in January of this year. We hadn't planned to commit another £100mk to the squad in that window.

We effectively bought forward the money we had budgeted for this summer window as we panicked about relegation, Shi has actually gone on record saying this is the case.

We are short a centre back, but the squad is as strong as any that I can recall in recent years going into the new season.

Time to get a coach in that can get the best out of what he's got and stop moaning.

Lopetegui has certainly been open. Whether he has been honest I think is open to question.

Did he really not know Raul was leaving the day before he left? Not sure I believe that and I’m sure Raul was a player he felt he could afford to lose. And did he really not know that spending so much in Jan would impact our spending this summer? Although being able to spend nothing may well have been a surprise.

Whatever, being more willing to discuss these issues with the press than with his employers could only really have one consequence.

But the bigger issue for Wolves is that I don’t see them attracting as good a manager to take us forward. O’Neill was unlucky to lose his job at Bournemouth but he is not an experienced manager and it’s not inspiring for us to take on a manager they felt wasn’t good enough for them.

In the very short term who is overseeing training today. Who will prepare and pick the team for old Trafford.

Must say I’m feeling much less confident about the future for the club right now. It really could go very pear shaped

I think the target has to be to stay in the division. Surely GON has enough experience and resources to achieve that aim?

We are paying a very high price for the shambles of the first 4 months of last season under Lage.

I think this has been coming since the massive spend in the last window. Loppy is a big time Charlie and Wolves were not big enough for him. We don’t know what was promised, but obviously both parties were not honest with each other.
The money men have a lot to answer for as it seems FFP was forgotten about and books weren’t balanced.
We are in a mess and we have to hope that we can get over this season and still be in the Premier. Anything less would be a disaster.
