Where is this assumption coking from that these guys are going to improve and gel?

All I read is trying to push mediocre players into some pattern that is still in question or at best under development. Poor against Killie and let a bloody awful side down to ten men off the hook to the point where they still have a chance to progress.

Cantwell was your best player last season and still is by far (to date) this season yet Beale really isn’t sure what to do with him.

Baffling.

i watched at my dads and then drove home, listening to sportsound.

derek ferguson and kenny miller saying to keep it simple and just keep crossing it.

i'm certain the constant crossing and nothing else was criticised previously?

Danilo looks guff
Dessers looks guff
Lammers looks guff

that said, first few times i saw GG i thought he was laughable but when he got going he was a player.

early days.

Have these new players, Danilo and the like, not had a pre season? Looked really lethargic and off pace.

Celtics first three games under Ange after wholesale changes to the squad

Pumped out of the UCL by Midtylland
Lost away to Hearts

That’s also not including a 6-2 horsing at home by West Ham in a pre-season friendly

Ye done pretty well after that

Willing to give these guys time

There was a pattern of play established that we could all see.

I think you’ve deliberately sidestepped the point being made.

Should had that game sewn up by half time.

Controlled the 2nd half but looked a bit leggy.

Defo an improvement from what we got at the weekend but that wasnt gonna be too hard.

2nd half we still looked like a team in pre season mode.

Next round will be tough. Servette have a decent size stadium for their league (too large for them) they sold it out on the day it opened against young boys but never since until next weeks tie. So the players will be buzzing and getting backed like they never have before.

I’m not side stepping any point…I’m making my own

7 of the players we used last night only arrived in the summer, another two of them were signed in January by the same manager and were two of the best players on the park last night

Doesn’t matter how long Beale has been here…..it’s virtually a new team he is looking to field compared to last season, some of the guys brought in who are clearly designed to be first team starters have barely got up and running

I’ll judge when the time is right…now isn’t that time

you forget that mob had a lot of players out as well, wonder how many they will have back.

i thought they were laughable at times, the forward, Fofana, was particularly guff.

Naw, I’m sick of the pen and red card stuff, it’s monotonous

As if our players aren’t allowed to get fouled in the box or teams should be able to do whatever the fck they want against us and not get booked/sent aff

One of our players could get hooked in the mouth in the penalty box, and folk would still trot out this “oh aye, pen and red card to Rangers eh” pi$h coz they don’t give a monkeys about the merits only the stat

kl story, the point remains. You bite more than a rabid rottie. it couldnt be more obvious what they are doing and you just feed them.

So you don’t think what they are doing is feeding anything else?

Danilo - busy and decent touch but maybe missing aggression?
Dessers - decent in space, less so when tight
Lammers - looks ungainly and obviously had his Sebo moment but moves nicely
Cifuentes - looked pretty solid in the tackle and has energy
Butland - clear upgrade
Dowell - fook knows

On Cantwell, watched him close last night. Fabulous at passing and moving so always in space and knows what is the correct space so has time to pick the right pass to keep the ball. After that 19/20 he's turning back and square passing because he's not getting options.

Conclusion for me is still the tactics being the issue. Tav and Barasic your main attacking threats and main defensive liabilities - it make little sense after all the years plugging away at the same thing. Are you going to have to wait until these guys retire? It's like lumping it in the box is in the DNA, mission statement and sloganed on the Ibrox corridors and not sure it has been the approach at any high level team that has had success since fack knows when yet Beale is lauded as some tactical genius. Does he not squirm when he watches other teams?

Comparison's to Ange is lauaghable

1. Beale has been here 7 months and has gone from saying Rangers need 2 players, to 5 players, to 7 players and then signed 9.

2. Even when we weren't winning under Ange we could see what he was trying to impose and we knew with the right players it would work the worry was just how long it would take. The 6-2 defeat to West Ham had a defence of Ralston (just back after 2 seasons on loan), Dane Murray, Stephen Welsh, Adam Montgomery - up against Michail Antonio and a strong West Ham XI that went on to finish high up the league that season. Only Ralston gets any game time from that defence and that is as back up.

Hopes for the Rangers fans of signing different type of players will not happen. Beale and the Rangers sided media are all saying the players there just need time to click. The transfer window closes in 3 weeks.

Rangers tactics last season were cross it, cross it, cross it. I was told I don't watch Rangers enough as that isn't true. Last night proved that.

No wide players so the outer forwards tuck in to make space for the full backs to push up and cross it in. Hope to win the header and if not then have 3 midfielders positioned around the edge of the box for second balls.

THAT is Rangers tactic. It hasn't changed from last season and will not change in the next 3 weeks. Absolutely dire to watch. Any good footballer that Rangers have simply has to pass it wide to Tav or occassionally Barisic.
