Thought you guys looked bad, but so did we. We won it on very fine margins and had things gone slightly differently it would be a totally different conversation.

Papered over a lot of cracks for us, but I think you have more cracks to be papered over so it might have been worse in the long run to win? I dunno

We will beat you at OT. This is how this fixture seems to be going in recent years.

Seen enough from Hojlund cameo to be excited. He's quick and he's got something about him.

Was a cracking game

Hojilund looks like he's kenough

I don’t think our midfield was a problem today. Some of our players still don’t get the pressing system. Pressing isn’t an individual choice, something a player can do alone. Either you press as a group or you don’t. Antony’s pressing was very good, but it didn’t pay off because he didn’t receive any help from Martial and Rashford. At the back, every time Onana had the ball we looked like having an extra defender, but every time Lindelof received the ball he canceled that advantage by his slowness and his inability to move the ball quickly out of our defensive zone. I said this last week when I saw Lindelof warming up : now I expect Forest to spend the rest of the time in our half. That’s exactly what happened. He invites danger instead of anticipating it. I truly think ETH should consider McT as centre back.

Antony was solid defensively but yet again he's a waste of space with the ball.

We paid 85m for an offensive winger to score and make goals not somebody to tag team with AWB at the back.

He's a million miles off the best right wingers in the league. At least Rashford, for his faults, but the numbers up. The last 4 goals we've score have all come from Rashford doing something.

When is Antony going to do it?

I enjoyed Antony winning the ball at the edge of our box then falling over when he tried to kick it

That’s an even worse suggestion than starting Bailly.

I just don't know why we spent the money we did on Antony. It's baffling. At least with deals like pogba and Sancho their form for their previous clubs dictated a high fee. His didn't.

Honestly he isn't one third as good as Nani

I wanna see:

Rashford Hojlund Garnacho

To see if it works. If not then Pellestri on the right. I'm sick of watching a so called forward player struggle to beat anyone or make anything happen. When will g
Get get his first goal or assist this season? October? November?

ETH has had an absolute mare on this one and there's no easy fix as he can't give up on him.

I'm surprised more wasn't made of the Gabriel/Højlund penalty incident. As much of a penalty for me as the overturned Havertz one. You cannot defend with your arms like that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a free kick anywhere else on the pitch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If they gave that i'd be fuming, Salahs man handled like that in the box most games and gets fack all. Poor could have 2 playrs swinging from his neck and still wouldnt get a decision.

he did a good job defensively, cut out a lot of stuff tracked his man etc. The stuff Jenas highlighted was him being in good positions isolating his man 1v1 but never receiving the ball despite screaming for it and being wide open etc.

Not sure what more he can do tbh in that game anyway. Hes had poor games and deserves criticism but this aint one of them imo.

Why did Martinez go off?

And how depressing is it that after all the money we have spent on transfers, we end up with a back line of
Awb Maguire Evans dalot

Just......... Wow.. it is quite possibly the worst back 4 in the PL.

There's far far too much being made of that. Name me Arsenal's 5th and choice centre back. How about Liverpool's or Chelsea's? None of them would be great. It's not a representative United defensive line up, so why act like this is our first choice or likely to be a regular occurrence? Keep seeing this and it makes no sense

We would have brought on Tomiyasu and Kiwior which I think is better than Evans and Maguire

We dont have a 5th and 6th choice, we got Quansah i guess some kid from the acad. We've VVD and Konate, 3rd and 4th played today Gomez and Matip. Bit of a luxury to have a 5th and 6th choice cb tbh

The Utd backline if it was the equivalent for Arsenal (due to injuries) would’ve ended up something like:

Soares Tomiyasu Kiwior White

And that's horribly bad. Not that it's a willy swinging contest. The point is that this is being used as a stick to beat United with. When having an injury crisis at the back means you're going to have to field a makeshift back line. I just find it confusing.

If people want to criticise the squad in general for what we've spent, that's a different matter and would be valid tbf

For spurs it’d have been (if it’s of any interest):

Royal Tanganga Dier Porro
