Religion is clearly a massive part of the conflict.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is to an extent but what’s being done right now goes beyond religion. It’s about power (which I guess you could say that’s what religion really is).
But when you bring religion into it it’s far too easy to label someone an antisemite if you criticise the actions of Israel when it’s much more about a political party hiding behind religion to instigate a land grab on a mass scale.
I think if Hamas came out from their tunnels and went toe to toe with the IDF, without the risk of civilians being caught in the crossfire, their cause might receive more sympathy.

I think if Hamas came out from their tunnels and went toe to toe with the IDF, without the risk of civilians being caught in the crossfire, their cause might receive more sympathy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You mean beacuse if it WAS like a cage fight with no where to hide Hamas would all be killed pretty quickly?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That ALMOST sounded like you support their tactic of hiding within heavily populated areas
----------------------------------------------------------------------
LOL you are crackers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hardly. It’s you who thinks they wouldn’t get more sympathy if they removed civilians from the line of fire.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. I think they would all die very quickly against the might and will of the IDF if they actually agreed to such a contest.
And stop telling me what I think.

And we don't want sympathy for Hamas. We want sympathy for Palestinians. Please read up on this before commenting again.

Gaza is by default “heavily populated”. There’s nowhere to really go in Gaza.
Do you want Hamas to line themselves up on the beach or something?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, i didn’t say they should. Just that if they DID! They might get more support / sympathy than they currently do.

Im talking about the outcome of a daft, projected scenario that two completely unmatched military forces would ever agree to stage a battle on a level playing field as you suggest. Maybe they should just decide it on a game of Top Trumps.
