I appreciate that we want to stamp out racism in all walks of life. But for me, yet another example of where we are concentrating on the wrong thing. Because it's Garnacho, because it's Man U etc, it will grab headlines, and underneath it all there is probably a relatively small minor lesson to be learnt by Garnacho. But does anyone believe that Garnacho is trying to be racist to his teammate?
If more time was spent on truly terrible racist behaviour / actions, rather than media focus on this, we might actually make progress in the fight against racism.
I guess if we lived in a world where Garnacho's actions were considered at the highest scale of racism, then yes, all the furore would be justified, but let's be realistic with where we are in the world and deal with the real racist issues and focus on them

This is rubbish. Utd fans going all out scouse in the blind defence of their player.
At the very least it is stupid, highly insensitive, ignorant, controversial and likely to be found offensive by many.

It clearly isn’t meant to be racist, he wouldn’t be posting it on social media if that were the case.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Very true. I’ve never seen anything racist on social media.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why don’t you shut up and keep your nose out mate you facking fat kangaroo molesting t0sser, nobody cares about your opinion on movies - you’re not Barry facking Norman, you’ve no business calling yourself a Utd fan and you’re one of the biggest wet lettuces on this gaff, facking busy body mug.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Crikey
I actually think it’s going too far the other way. Context is always important (something devonshirespur doesn’t seem to grasp from comparing it to Suarez).
I could be totally wrong, but is the post not about Onana and Maguire as they are the 2 in the middle and are the two have had had the most criticism. Surely that in itself completely debunks the targeted emoji for a particular reason?

Utterly mental this. Onana himself says it’s nonsense,
Fabrizio Romano
@FabrizioRomano
Andrฤ Onana states it’s a symbol of strength. Garnacho has said “it’s a term of endearment ‘en espanol’ , please I do not want this blown up [out of proportion], there should be no sides, I don’t want to see camisas estampadas [printed shirts] about this.” MUFC yet to release statement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wait what?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Baz hasn't got the recognition this one deserved.
Wish people would use a full stop or a apostrophe. Not sure if hes a fat kangaroo and hes also molester. or he finds fat kangaroos to molest
Going back to the subject. I go by intent. it seems there was no intent to be racist. so no one else should decide for the person that it is.
I know it wasn't meant in a bad, racist, way but players should know better nowadays though. Leave nothing open to ambiguity.
It probably hurts us but if I were the club I'd suspend him for one match before the FA has a chance to do something.
Rightly or wrongly players have responsibilities and this probably shows why some shouldn't have access to their own accounts!
This is what’s wrong with the world these days, he meant no ill with his tweet, however the FA will investigate and no doubt fine and ban him!
And Why will they? Because of the Woke idiots being offended there’s a few of on JA 606 and this is what you’ve created!
For the record I think in an ideal world people need to put context on these things. What Garnacho has done is nothing much at all.
However, to pre-empt any FA move the club should probably act itself.

Anyway, go into work, find a colleague who is black and has done something excellent in their job and compare them to a gorilla for doing so in front of everyone.
