I appreciate that we want to stamp out racism in all walks of life. But for me, yet another example of where we are concentrating on the wrong thing. Because it's Garnacho, because it's Man U etc, it will grab headlines, and underneath it all there is probably a relatively small minor lesson to be learnt by Garnacho. But does anyone believe that Garnacho is trying to be racist to his teammate?
If more time was spent on truly terrible racist behaviour / actions, rather than media focus on this, we might actually make progress in the fight against racism.
I guess if we lived in a world where Garnacho's actions were considered at the highest scale of racism, then yes, all the furore would be justified, but let's be realistic with where we are in the world and deal with the real racist issues and focus on them

I actually think it’s going too far the other way. Context is always important (something devonshirespur doesn’t seem to grasp from comparing it to Suarez).

I could be totally wrong, but is the post not about Onana and Maguire as they are the 2 in the middle and are the two have had had the most criticism. Surely that in itself completely debunks the targeted emoji for a particular reason?

I know it wasn't meant in a bad, racist, way but players should know better nowadays though. Leave nothing open to ambiguity.

It probably hurts us but if I were the club I'd suspend him for one match before the FA has a chance to do something.

Rightly or wrongly players have responsibilities and this probably shows why some shouldn't have access to their own accounts!

Garnacho has been a little bit silly here really. I don't think it's racist but it's very naive to think people wouldn't think it is. He really needs some kind of social media training.

With Onana being from Cameroon surely a Lion would have made more sense anyway if he wanted to signify strength and being a king etc.
